So..what do we think to this bunch of lads? They kinda look like triple 8 crossed with VS, which isn't really a good thing. But they're working with stannard and rowe, so who knows they may have a hit or 2 up their sleeves. Chance of success 4/10

Heard the tracks. Sound like 5ive vs Triple 8. Plus they have changed their name 3 times for a reason!

They look like they'll be the next Damage. I hope it's just a bad photo. They look like uglier versions of other boybanders. The crossed arms one might be cute, but you can't really tell. Well, maybe they'll have good personalities...

Not going to work..if it works it'll just be inside the UK. What are these A&R guys's problem!!!! Why are they attempting to make their new boybands sound "cool". They aren't suposed to try and sound cool, they are a boyband.. If teenage girls wanted to buy cool music they'd got out and by cool music. boy bands should have a bit of that guilty pleasure cheese to them. Where is Martin Dodd (well i know where he is) but why AREN"T YOU DOING A NEW BOYBAND MARTIN!!! Bullet for my valentine are great and cred and all but we need some POP!!! SonyBMG have big pockets!! save us from this mediocer shyte!! Show the world how it's done!!!!

I'm not talking about Max Martin..Martin Dodd is an A&R guy, he was the main A&R for hit backstreet boys, nsync, britney, ace of base records. He actually knows how to get it done. He UNDERSTANDS the boyband thing. None of these other A&R guys do (other than cowell IMO).

SonyBMG have big pockets!! save us from this mediocer shyte!! Show the world how it's done!!!! I actually think that in this instance, you're completely and utterly wrong. If you take the three big boyband launches of the last few years - Blue, Busted and McFly - all are 'authentic' acts in that to their core fanbase they are 'cool', whether it's due to urban posturing, or playing their own instruments. Times have changed, and kids are far more savvy than they used to be. You only have to look at the huge failure of 'V' to see that cheese simply doesn't work anymore. Yes, Westlife are still selling - but I doubt they'd have the success they'd had if they were launched in this climate - hence the failure of the fairly similar DSide. And Shayne may be selling albums with the Scandinavian ballad thing, but would he have done even a quarter as well without the TV programme?? I doubt it. Both have managed to tap into the 'mum' market, which I would imagine accounts for the majority of both artists fan base. And why bother doing another 'traditional' boyband when we already have Westlife doing that, and selling loads of records? Surely the whole point of a&r is to spot a gap in the market and exploit it, rather than doing something which is already there? I think there's a huge gap in the market for a new 'Blue' - credible enough for radio one to play them, pop enough for the kids to like them. Are '365' that band - no, I don't think so. They look like someone's forced Phixx to form a band with Damage, and the styling's all wrong - it's obviously meant to appear casual, but like 888 before them, still looks very stylised. The song on their myspace is ok, but doesn't scream hit, although I've been informed they have better material, so time will tell....

The song on their myspace is ok, but doesn't scream hit, although I've been informed they have better material, so time will tell.... I'm not saying the boy band has to be another westlife. BUT V and Dside didn't work cuz the songs were total shyte. And thats my point ,those A&R guys don't know what a good boy band song is. (not saying i'm an expert either but...) I HATE when people go "boy bands wont work now, just look at V and Dside" V and Dside had crap songs!! That's why they didn't work!!! It wasn't cuz they were a boy band. They didn't have a world wide appealing sound or song on their album. The record company didn't know how do it. I kind of agree about there is space for another 'blue' but it may need to be a bit less uk/pop/r&b sounding to really blow up arond the world. I don't totally agree that westlife woudln't work if they were launched now, because now they've become more of an Adult Contemporary band almost like Il Divo. And there IS a market for that. And of course kids are more savy now. But if you're looking out side the UK a band like 365 wont work. I don't think those A&R guys know what they are doing. But maybe i'm setting the bar too high..i'd just love to see a boy band get realesed that can be as huge as bsb and nsync once were. Of course the album sales aren't gonna be that high, but i still think you can get close if you give the public the right thing.

I sorta agree with that. I think both V and Dside were unfortunate that by the time they actually released their 'hit' - 'You Stood Up' and 'Invisible' - it was far too late for both of them. I think both of them could have been world wide hits, evident with 'Invisible' being used in the US by Clay AIken (if I'm correct)
I kinda get what you mean about 365 - I think their image is far too rnb, but from what I've heard, the musical style is pretty spot on. However, where Blue triumphed is that they looked like a normal 'pop' boyband, but their music had more of an edge. For me, this band looks far too urban. That said, I don't think a BSB or NSync style band would work now whatsoever, and I actually think the nearest we'd get to something like that is if someone did something completely rnb - almost like 3 or 4 Ushers (Think B2K, with a few Let Me Love You's or So Sick) - they're the worldwide pop songs of today.......
