What with comeback mania in the UK (Take That and just about every other pop group from 93/94) I wondered if it was part of a worldwide phenomenon.
The reason for this is that in Japan TRF have reformed and released a new album, and it seems to be quite a big deal. They were one of the biggest pop groups here in the early 90s and had some excellent songs- "Boy Meets Girl", "Ez Do Dance", "Masquerade" and so on- and their new album is a triple set- 2 CDs and a DVD (!!), one of the CDs featuring reworkings of their tracks by current artists.
Has this been going on anywhere else? And with who?

It really is time for pop to make a comeback.
Here's some suggestions, off the top of my hairdo: Hazell Dean - produced by Xenomania Dana International - "DIVA 2007"
And on the back of Beyond covering Cliff's I JUST DON'T HAVE THE HEART, I reckon the comeback for pop music should definitely include a cover version of Sonia's SAW-penned "Can't Forget You". One of the newly ejaculated boybands could do that one - hey, I'd even go for 365.
Oh and can we please bring Cybil back as well? Surely she must be good and ready by now.

Tic Tac Toe have had minor success with their comeback in Germany. The single Speigel stuck around in the top 10/20 for ages and was actually pretty good....the album (cleverly called "The Comeback" haha!) however was utter poo, don't think it sold well either.
For those who don't know Tic Tac Toe were like the German Spice Girls in the sense they were a massive girl group around '96/97 and fizzled out after 1 member left (never found out why she left, any one know??) They were like rap-pop and had some massive songs like "Warum?" ("Why?"---a classic in my book), "Ich Finde dich Scheisse" ("I Think Your Shit"---includes the funniest line ever "the dog shit on my shoe is more intellengent than you") "Verpiss dich!" ("fuck You!") and Mr Wichtig. The bring back memories of my school exchanges to Germany!

They all split up due to that infamous 'conference' I think.

Thank you Taya and BGibson for being the only ones to have a clue what I was getting at.
