Thank you. Madonna just had a baby before the Music promo started, isn't it? She knew she was pregnant but she still recorded songs, I would not know why she would do that unless they were meant to be released. But still, official word on an album would be rather nice... Yes, but Madonna is smart, and she knows how to promote her music. Brit? Not so sure. What about that Greatest Hits album that had no promo? What about that remixes collection that went to no.125 or something in the US and didn't even chart in the UK? More than that, Madonna was the Queen at the time when Music was released, she had nothing to prove, she didn't have 'America's Most Hated' husband and didn't walk the streets with no shoes on. She was at her peak and had nothing to prove at all. So don't compare these two. And FYI, ITZ came out in 2003... When is the new album out? 2008? Ha ha. I DO want her to have success, but it seems to be Forever all over again... Oh, and I'm SORRY, but Brit's no Kate Bush... She's no Janet Jackson either. And FYI, there's the Tweeds and she had to postpone her marriage because the Aloud had a new album out... There's Madonna and she had to do abortions 'cause 'the time wasn't right'. I DO NOT MEAN that Brit has to do the same, but I do believe that people who managed to make it big have to work even harder... Well, at least this is what I think... Oh, and I DON'T HAVE A SORRY LIFE. Stop being so over-protective. I like Brit and I don't like it when people bash her, but what I like about her the most is her music, not her babies or her husband etc etc etc. I don't care about them at all. I have more important people to care about. Does that make me a bad person? No. That's the choice I made, and I'm going to stick to it. So Joeletaxi, if a man from the year 2020 beamed down from his time cabinet and told you that in order to get Britney to record the best pop album ever you have to take his laser gun (he gives it to you) and track down Britney's children and kill them at birth, sort of like Linda Conner in The Terminator but instead of Arnie as the killer there is only a selfish little shit like you, would you do it? Would you?!

People's views and opinions differ, may they be wrong or right. Although putting a CD before another person's happiness does seem selfish when you think about it.

What differs Britney from all the other pop stars is she's a real girl who happens to be a great popstar. So she's not going to have an abortion, or stress out about it. If an ablum is meant to happen it will, she couldn't have given us her all with where she is in her life. (the pregnancy, k-fed, all the gossip) She always gives 100 percent, and if she cant til 2007, i will patientley wait. Cause by then she'll have so much more to say.

And the fans' sticking up for her, I really apprecitate that from one fan to another. Yes, this is all very sad. But let's put it into perspective. WHAT is that apostrophe doing there? HOW exactly does one apprecitate something? WHY would someone want to say "from one fan to another"? Clearly there are more important things to worry about than Britney getting pregnant. I'd have been more scared if that really was just "puppy fat".

I'd like to back up the sentiments of Maureen and Kirkland. Giving birth doesn't stop you from being a popstar, or working- what times are we living in? Oh and for the record, I checked the tv listings- it's actually on tonight on ITV4 at 11:50 pm- we get the episodes a day after America. Oh and many congratulations to Britney- she seems delighted. And she has a nice new fringe, which is always good. The ITV4 schedule lied to me! I thought it was bizarre having a 2-day delay, but it's been updated now! I have added her interview from this month's "Glamour" magazine to my site; it's probably one of her more revealing interviews of late, where she talks about her fashion, what she's listening to, what she's up to, etc. It's quite nice!

Yeah Madonna is smart, and she does know how to promote. However she doesn't sell as well as brit for starters, so she does have to work a little harder at that. And to top it off, Britney could care less about promoting. She released "b in the mix" for her fans, she doesnt want a bunch of faux-fans anymore. The greatest his was for us too, she knew she'd be gone awhile and gave that to the fans. So she obviously doens't care about the money, as long as her fans support her.

Madonna - 250 millions records sold... Brit - 70 millions records sold... Yeah, she doesn't sell as well as Brit... Oh, and ITZ (while being better than COADF) sold about 8 millions records worldwide, and COADF sold 7 millions records and still has a long way to go, since it's been out for half a year only (and Britney's album is almost 3 years old). Who's a starter now?

I actually think this might be a good thing. Britneys recent activities have made me realise what a publicity savvy person she is. It also gives her time to get rid of her husband as well as actually a good long time frame to compile a massive wealth of genius pop songs to choose from. I have a feeling the next album will be immense.
Interest in her is stil high despite not doing anything of much value for ages. She looked great at the In Control launch and Letterman. Post baby numero 2 she will be back to form with a Slave body and Toxic quality tunes.

Thanks for that- what a lovely article. She's clearly loving being a mother, but is by no means sitting on her laurels from what she said. I love Glamour interviews with her, they always show such a positive side- it's nice to hear Britney being referred to as Self deprecating and down-to-earth. As a huge Britney fan, it depresses me how many people are constantly talking about her "getting rid of him'. The tabloids always have and always will talk shit- we have no idea what happens in their home. If she seems happy (which she does, blissfully in fact) then that should be respected- not wishing heartbreak on her.

'At one point I was thinking of being a home mom, but when my son sees me dance he lights up. Then I know what I'm supposed to be doing - if Mom's happy, baby's happy!
and boy, do we know how he feels!!! seeing her perform live the first time was amazing, i've never seen that much energy and presence on stage before. (but i don't see madge for a few weeks)
This is from worldofbritney.com -the best brit site!

Who's a starter now? Um.. but the same argument about ITZ being around longer than confessions works the same for madonna being around alot longer than britney.. so britney selling 70 million in alot less time is pretty good. And confessions is regarded as madonna's comeback, yet it still hasnt sold more than In the Zone which wasnt seen as being a massive hit for britney.. Anyhow.. britney wanted a break before recording ITZ but she got followed around so much she recorded the album as she thought she may aswell be working. Then she did the tour and greatest hits stuff.. and it hasnt been so long since do something was out.. so it's not like she's been sat at home for years and years. Actualy i hope she squezees out many more kids one after another just to spite stupid people like you who think she shouldn't have a personal life just to keep you entertained.. And did i personaly say you have no life.. no i didnt. It was a generaly comment. But after reading your numerous posts answering back almost every point in the thread you are indeed exactly the kind of person i had in mind. Thankyou for making yourself known and being an example for my point.

I love Britney. I'm happy that she's happy at the moment and she seems to be re-discovering herself and still enjoying time. I'm sure she'll hit the pop scene sometime next year and I'll happily wait til then cos it's going to be well worth it.

You resent MY being here You resent HIS being here You resent the FANS' being here Mt driving is bad His driving is bad The fans' driving is bad He said "Madonna doesn't SELL as well as Britney" not "Madonna hasn't sold as much" How many Albums has Madonna had? And how many has Brintey had? If you average them out Britney sells more per album than Madonna does. And Guiness only puts her sales at 120 million anyway. She's had about 18 albums or something. Britney has had 5. Clearly Britney sells more albums than Madonna does. It is a possessive construction. Technically, the apostrophe can be correct in that context. But yes it was a bollocks thing to say. Sort of what you'd expect on Dawson's Creak or something.

So we have COADF (0.5 years old) with 7 millions and ITZ (3 years old) with 8 millions. Doesn't she sell as much as her? And don't start me on Confessions being Madonna's comeback 'cause ITZ was sort of come back too, people were into Justin and Xtina at that moment and Britney had a lot to prove. And it's a fact that while Britney's album sales went downhill with time, Madonna's album sales stayed almost the same.

We are talking about generally though. Madonna doesn't sell as much as Britney. Confessions on a Dancefloor is one album out of 18. Yes it is selling very well, and is going to overtake Britney's last offering.
And wasn't Madonna's American Life a bit of a dud?
But back to Britney being up the Hillary Duff again. Her career is not important. She's got enough money, she doesn't do anything important, so it doesn't matter if she takes a long break, or even packs it in for good. Tweedy's situation is completely different because - 1. A wedding is easily postponed, and 2. She doesn't just have to think about herself, she has 4 other girls to think about. If Britney really really wanted to get back on the scene as soon as possible she would. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if she's been put off by the selfishness of her so-called "fans".

We really cannont compare Britney to Madonna in any sense other than the purely superficial. I thought Britney was going to be Madonna's natural successor but despite the amount she's sold, she hasn't got what Madonna has. Neither does she have a Like A Prayer, True Blue or Ray Of Light. Though that could change if we give her time.

This Madge vs Titney thing is very oldish. I think the appropriate question is: can anyone imagine Britney at album #18 (or whatever it really is) like Madonna?
This is a girl who goes into public restrooms barefoot, drives with her baby on her lap to "protect it" and has such low regard for herlsef that she marries one of the most clearly godldigging, scummy men in the US. Kev? Big dicked probably, small brained surely. Until she surrounds herself with better humans and more artistic people the case is closed, bless her.

^Yeah but Britney started much earlier than Madonna. But yes, enough of the comparisons because they are clearly not in the same league. Britney has a lot to learn but people need to back off, she released albums quickly and now her fans are used to it. They need to just chill.

Oh, and on the subject of husbands - isn't Guy Ritchie kind of regarded as a bit of a joke nowadays?
