Just think, one of us is going to have Adam as our mp after the next election! Can you imagine discussing your illegal immigrant problems or person-less-rich-and-brilliant-than-me neighbours with him? U could ask him to sing u a song on the doorstep for your vote...

Adam Rickitt, as his last Question Time performance proved, is nothing more than the leader of a sixth form debating society realising he isn't actually that good when it comes to the national championships.

Years ago one of my local MPs and his posse picked me up in his car and drove me to the election booth to vote, as I hadn't done so yet at about 8pm that night.
If only Adam was my local MP, I'd sign up so I could drive about with him in his car all day,....be with him when he wins and share his joy... join in the celebrations and get drunk with him.... then possibly look for a new house as I'm not convinced how good he'd be as an MP.

It was embarresing how uncomfortable he looked on that panel! Also i am loving how the serious news programmes are playing I Breathe Again and commenting on it when discussing this story!

lol, yes, he had two other singles where he was fully clothed in the videos, but they naturally choose the one where he is naked!

I bet his career as an MP is going to be just as much of a a flop as his acting and pop careers were. Maybe he should do something more suited to his natural 'talents' and 'abilities'. I hear Marks And Spencers are short of shop window dummies.

The Conservatives are reserving most of their winnable seats for women at the next election. Despite his impressive tits, i don't think he'll be sent anywhere he has a chance of victory.

The Tories will be very very cautious in using positive discrimination as it can lead to accusations of discrimination from men and human rights cases. They may not put him in a winnable seat but they will certainly put him in a high profile one to show just how 'down with the kids' they truely are.

What sort of a world do we live in when the likes of Adam and even The Terminator can work in politics?

Not that I'm suggesting anything but it seems to me a coincidence that both the names you mention ^ are focused on the right wing of the political spectrum.

I'm trying to think of other pop stars in proper politics i.e. ones actually involved in the democratic process and not ones just embarrassing themselves in Red Wedge or nominating themselves, dictator stylee like Bono.
The only one I can think of is the singer of terrible Gaelic band, Runrig. He's a Scottish National Party person. I suppose anything to do with nationalism belongs on the right, so he's remaining true to form.
Someone said over on LowCulture that increasingly the world seems to be scripted by Chris Morris. I actually think this is a good thing, for my own entertainment purposes.

Actually 'pro-independence' parties tend to start off leftist... Not true with the SNP- they were originally called the 'tartan tories' due to the alignment in policy but as with other parties in the UK they have moved to the left to become a more social democratic party.

Not quite true - local Tory parties in the 140 seats most likely to be won by the Conservatives in the next election have to pick their candidates from the approved 'priority' list, and more than half of the people on that list are women. But that means only around half of those 140 seats will have female candidates - the other half will have to pick from the male members of the list, one of whom is Adam Rickitt. I can't believe that any local Conservative party would pick him as their candidate, even if he is on that list (unless everyone else has been picked) so I still doubt he'll ever make it as an MP.
