Channel 4 youth music show Popworld will return to TV screens on September 17 in a new Saturday slot at 10.30am in a bid to broaden the audience for the flagship series. Hosted by Simon Amstell and Miquita Oliver, At It-produced Popworld was a fixture on the Sunday morning schedule for more than four years Popworld celebrates the world of pop with a mix of celebrity interviews, cutting-edge performances and entertainment trivia. As well as securing a new Saturday slot, Popworld also returns to E4 in September, while www.popworld.com will be refreshed to reflect the new weekend slot. To celebrate the move, Popworld will also take over T4 for the day, with Amstell and Oliver at the helm. The recently recorded Popworld: McFly Special, also made by At It Productions, will be screened on September 4, featuring performances of tracks from the band's new album. Guests due to appear on Popworld in September include Sean Paul, Franz Ferdinand, McFly, Jamie Cullum, Audio Bullys and Hard Fi. Meanwhile, At It has also produced two documentaries on Robbie Williams and Franz Ferdinand, which as yet have not been given screening dates.

I guess I'll be watching it on E4 in the week then...
Apart from that it sounds fine. Wahay Popworld!

I prefer it on a sunday- I'm usually out/ asleep or hungover on a saturday morning, but I suppose it will get it a wider audience.
They should have just made it later on a sunday.

I think they should repeat it on a weekday evening for a while. In the Simpsons or Hollyoaks slots. Then, when people get interested, remind them that's on on Saturday mornings and it's much better than cd:uk and get rid of showing it on weekdays.
Or something.

Won't that be the same time as CD:UK? I guess they're going for rivalry but for people who actually like watching music programmes it's kind of annoying!

Jessica Popworld starts at 10:30am and finishes at 11:30am, just in time for CD:UK. TOTP Reloaded has the unfortunate position of clashing with both shows.

I'm loving the Sunday afternoon muchly. Mainly because Saturdays i'm either out early or not up by the time it's on it's great to be able to watch it on Sunday afternoons because there's nothing else on anyway.

There's already not enough to watch on Sundays, so they should leave it where it is!

I really miss Popworld. I work on saturdays, and as I only have normal TV I get to see precious little pop on telly as it is. Would it kill them to put on a late night repeat on Channel 4 like they used to?

Would it kill them to put on a late night repeat on Channel 4 like they used to? i totally agree - I love Simon as much as the next person but at the moment my saturday mornings go something like this: Ministry of Mayhem, switch to TotP Reloaded then cd:uk. Popworld had a couple of crummy shows a few weeks back and lost me to kids tv and havent quite managed to draw me back yet! The Doctor on MOM has had me nearly wetting myself laughing recently so i have no intention of leaving just yet, and sunday afternoons i'm normally dying in a pit of empty vodka bottles and fag ends so basically, a late night popworld would be ideal. apologies for the waffle but i'm still housebound with mumps and am getting very bored of not having any conversations!
