Apparently Ashlee Simpson sang without incident on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" last week in her return to the scene of last year's lip-synch fiasco. "I wrote this song after my last 'Saturday Night Live' appearance," she said, introducing "Catch Me When I Fall."
Billboard reports that she belted out the song "with gusto" (now that is surely worth watching), the only boost seeming to come with a brief echo effect on her vocal in the chorus. When she was done, Simpson smiled and hopped in relief.
It was nearly a year after her embarrassing appearance on the same stage, where her voice was heard singing the wrong song when she held her microphone at her waist. She danced an awkward jig and then walked off the stage.
"Who will be the one to save me from myself?" Simpson sang in the ballad. "Who's going to catch me when I fall?"
Certainly not me.

MuzicMatters has the videos and mp3s of her performances. She did Boyfriend and Catch Me When I Fall. Both were pretty good for what they are vocally. I like the CD version of Catch Me When I Fall, but she did a nice job live as well.
She also did a Sessions@AOL and sang I Am Me, Boyfriend, and LOVE. I can see Catch Me When I Fall becoming a future single though; she's beeing singing it along with a couple other new ones on her current mini-tour.
