How convenient Brenda leaves who was clearly in the top 2 of the series and leaves the judges with one act each in the final.
Shite.

So, how have we got left? Mr Motivator, the 2 male yellowcoats from Hi-Di-Hi and the Happy Shopper Justin Timberlake. Hmmm.

Exactly what I thought. I'm absolutely gutted, she was by far the best one. How 'exciting' now that there is one from each group in the final. Absolute fucking bollocks. Either ITV are rigging bastards or this, along with Record Of The Year, shows the public are total fucking morons. Dare I suggest that the fact she was a black woman may have counted against her?

I was DEVASTATED! I was so praying that dusbin man and his 'bring the kids on for sympathy' moment were to be booted out. I was pissed off Simon didn't comment on what was such an obvious lame-ass 'win over the moron public' stunt. Tosh!

Simon's been spending too much time in America. That stunt made me want to vomit, and I've always been fond of Andy. I don't know if it was better or worse than Shayne almost crying because he hadn't been to college or whatever it was.
Brenda was bloody robbed. She was easily the best remaining contestant. Louis crying like a big baby did cheer me up a little bit, but I'm considering taking a placard down to the finals out of protest.

i knew it would happen. the public just don't vote for women.
I think it's a complete travesty.
exactly the same as last year.
So let's just see....... will it happen like this? Sharon's act will go first (Andy/Tabby) She will then say something derogatory to Simons act (Journey South/Steve) - who will then beat the rightful winner(Shayne/G4), purely based on the reaction to her outburst.
If Journey South win, i may have to do something drastic..

I'm still in shock. How could they? No, seriously, how could they? Sharon better pull her a career out of her arse, or i'm hiring a hitman. No, not Pete Waterman. Isn't it interesting that Rowetta went out exactly this time last year too?

I trust that everyone who is appalled that Brenda left last night did in fact vote for her?

I was at the live show, and still managed to vote for Brenda three times!
Absolute travesty. The mood in the audience turned from initial anger at the news Brenda was leaving to a weirdly subdued atmosphere. It took about an hour for the mood to lighten in the bar. Also, contrary to popular belief and what is said on the show weekly, Brenda received by far the best reaction from the studio. By far.

I swear on my CD collection, someone better sign her. She's got gay icon written all over her. I am reluctant to use the word diva as it has been diluted by overuse....
She was fookin robbed. My building confidence that the British public/ITV were actually going to let the best person win has been completely shattered... I always thought it'd be Brenda 1st, Shayne 2nd (ala Will & Gareth). My money's on Journey South now taking the first spot. Don't ask me how, their vocal stuff all tends to sound like it's being squeezed out the back end of a spice weasel when they try hit the high or hard notes.
Argh I'm absultely gutted... did anyone happen to catch her at G-A-Y last night? I expect she was superb.
And Andy's stunt with his children was disgusting. He should have been booted for that alone. If I have to hear about his hard life and how he's doing it for his effing children etc etc one more time, I'm going to have to write to ITV inviting him to suck my left nut I just don't know what I'll do.

Isn't it convenient that last year Sharon, Louis and Simon all had one act each in the final three as well? Considering how many acts have to be whittled down, it's amazing that it's worked out perfectly for two years in a row isn't it?

TheJoel - Why only your left nut?
Back to topic. I was out last night and am once again gutted that I can't leave it to the rest of you to keep the right one in. Brenda should have won. Why does the right person never win? I don't think it's that women don't get the vote because I seem to remember that Michelle McManus was allegedly female. I do think it's hard for black, female singers to win and I'm pretty sure that Andy won't win. Other than Michelle it's always been the wettest of the wet white guys who've won. I'm in despair.

What I'm saying is that in the final three last year, each judge had one act each, same as this year.

It was only Simon and Louis in the final last year, which makes me think even more that it's a fix to have all 3 in the last show this time round... change the format slightly to try make it more "interesting". I've held the suspicion since they were doing the studio performances that the score was always worked out by group ie, the lowest scorer of the 16 to 25s, 26 and overs, and groups gets booted (whichever scores lowest inclusive of the other groups), but have a failsafe so it would always be that each group had a finalist. For example this week the vote only really counted between Andy and Brenda, as their category was the only one who had two contestants left (am I making sense?).
Shame Brenda didn't have personal tragedy she could milk from day one. Unfortunately being a fucking good peformer stands for nothing anymore.
And I said my left nut only because one's named Vinegar and one's named Piss. I chose the lesser of two evils... I'm not cruel.

I liked Brenda - she seems a nice person and can hold a tune, but what has she got that Rowetta didn't have? If Rowetta can't shift album units (and she's got Gay tattooed on one tit and Icon on the other), how will Brenda?
And to the people going on about racism, that's just far too easy, and patronising, an explanation. Considering such a large demograghic is teenage girls and middle aged women, is it hardly surprising who has gone through and who hasn't?
Aside from Lemar and Javine, the race card has been played on behalf of Roxanne, Zoe, Simone and Paris, and if you need to ask who, good. They were all talented but lost out to people with more charisma and likeability. I really don't think people sit at home and think "I don't like that darkie bint so I'm going to vote for the rubbish bloke instead", but think "Oh look what that nasty Sharon said to poor Steve, let's vote 10 timed for him".

Aah Rowetta's a different kettle of fish... her voice sounded like a horse in a combine harvester. Not to mention the fact that rumours of her bad attitude dogged her since the beginning (and she didn't do much to try prove anyone wrong). I think she just wasn't that good, nor was she likeable by any stretch. Rough as old arseholes apparently...

In response to an earlier question, I saw her at g-a-y and she was simply stunning. She did 4 songs, Somebody Else's Guy, Midnight Train To Georgia, Respect and I'm Outta Love. She looked genuinely thrilled to be there. And everyone booed Journey South.

If Journey South win this show they will go the same way as Steve Brookstein. They looked and moved like two Ken dolls last night and their version of Let It Be was an abomination. I was hoping that Brenda and Shayne would be the last two standing. Glad Brenda did well at g-a-y.

I feel a bit better knowing that Brenda did so well... was she performing the full versions of songs, or just those annoying X-Factor 45 second grabs? Not sure how I feel about Journey South being booed... it's not their fault Brenda got booted. They're in the show just like everyone else... that said, maybe they're going to get kicked off now by all the Brenda fans turning on them and voting more tactically. Just goes to show how much she was loved by her fans maybe *shrug*

She did exactly the same versions of the songs she did on the show. But they were still bloody good so it's fine! She danced around the stage like a mad woman during Respect and tried to get everyone to make train noises during Georgia. Was funny but I guess you had to be there!

You've all hit the nail(s) on the head. I was seriously gutted that the-best thing-to come-out of-the-X-Factor ever was voted out - she was IT! Curse the public for falling for two sob stories and an in the (Lion, Witch and the) 'Wardrobe' pretty boy. And okay, so I wouldn't say no to Shayne if he was tied up in a red bow and nothing else, but what is so great about his voice? Really? He's been more hyped up than Come & Get It and Confessions combined! It seems Rachel Stevens can now pass on her 'Most Boring' crown to Andy the binman. Y'know, he used to work as a binman? No? Well, they've only told us about 1000 times. Oh, and the look -like lovers-brothers, Journey South. Who have lived in a caravan. Struggled for years trying make it. Dead nice. Yep, we got that too after the 4000 time. And Shayne, well er...he's a young and from Manchester. Hmm, what a dull final this is gonna be. And why are there no fansites for Brenda? Travesty!

Brenda better get a recording career and release her version of Dionne Warwick's 'Heartbreaker' as a B-Side. It would have done well at Christmas if sorted earlier. Her performance of that song was excellent.

The only one I can see having a decent career is Shayne. Brenda might have a theatre career ahead of her. It was a shame she was voted out; I genuinely liked her and thought she was a great performer.
The vote wasn't rigged, though. I predict a win followed by a plunge into obscurity for Journey South, with a second place and lucrative album or two for Shayne. Andy should be back on the bins by February.
