Ashley from O-Town is trying to make a comeback as a solo artist and to do so he's taking a tip from Lisa Scott-Lee and doing an MTV reality show all about it. There's a page on him here although it doesn't start until next week and presumably won't be shown here unless it's a very popular show. The exciting news is that he's working with Max Martin on some songs, so there's a good chance his new music will be good. And he is still very good-looking, having grown his hair to fit in with the recent trends. Jessica

I heard about that when I looked on MTV.com. I'm excited about it.
I hope they air it here, because I was a huge O-Town fan, and Ashley was always my favourite.

I've seen the ads for it. He has a very pregnant girlfriend and gives her an ultimatum on the first episode.

The first episode was interesting, although somewhat unrealistic ($8000 for a down payment on a house in Los Angeles? The record label head writing him a check straight away?) If anybody wants to listen to Ashley's new single "I'm Better" (one of the Max Martin songs), use this Windows Media streaming link. It's decent.

Making The Band season 2 was shown on MTV but they never aired season 3 in the UK. Due to low ratings I'd assume. Of course I'll have my fingers crossed as I loved O-Town and Ashley bring back the boyband haircut!I can't play the single link very well because I'm stuck in the dark ages on a 56k connection. Anyone know where I can legally get a hold of the track?

Oh god, he didn't actually say that did he?
The song is yet another 'since you've been gone' clone but not as good. Once Max figures out a formula he really beats it to death, huh?

I don't think it sounds like SUBG but I agree that it's not Max's greatest work. But why would he waste a great song on Ashley when there are Swedish popstrels in need? He has priorities!

And to be fair, a far sight better. Those crazy bitches are hysterical!
But, back to topic: I've yet to watch "There and Back," but apparently it's fantastically ridiculous. His pregnant girlfriend's mom (who they LIVE WITH) walks in on him one morning, standing NAKED in front of the fridge. And he's sporting morning wood (not the band).
It sounds disturbingly genius.

yet didn't Ashley himself say on the show he wanted to name the baby something he would NOT get teased relentlessly for?

Making the band (O- Town style) was never even on MTV. It was on trouble.
Gosh he had change. He used to look like a very young Dougie McFly.
Why can't they just bring back O-Town anyway? What happened to them?

Series 1 and 2 were on Trouble. Then later on MTV screened it including an entire day of all the episodes ,which, I'm not entirely sure I should be admitting,I taped with great excitement. They split mainly due to lack of backing from their record label I think. Their second album was pretty darn good, especially the songs the band members themselves co-wrote but I don't remember seeing much, if any promo at all for it. I remember NME rated the second O Town album very highly. Seriously!
