His mother is an icon.
I always thought his hair was a wig in Corrie.

He's so cute! He seems really sweet and he's a good singer too. He looks like a combination of Danny McFly and James Bourne, but better than both of them. Who knew the Corrie goth was actually quite normal in real life?
I can't believe he is two years younger than me - it's so weird after all these years of being younger than pop stars (not that he actually is one but anyway) that it's finally getting to the stage where I'm older than them. Scary!
On a less positive note, I don't know how well he'd do as an actual pop star. He's got everything a pop star needs (a reasonable amount of talent, looks, stage presence) and he'd certainly appeal to very young girls and mums and grans who think he's sweet, but it's so difficult to launch pop acts these days I just wouldn't want to be too confident - I think he could easily be very disappointed.

Even when he falters a bit it just sounds like part of the song. He's great.

I didn't think he was quite so good last night actually. My fandom may be over already!

I only saw his first performance, but I could practically hear A&R men across the UK reaching for their cheque books as he sang the last note.
How did he do with 'Everybody's Changing'? And what did he sing last night?

I seen him on Stars in your eyes a few years back, he was good then too. I thought his very first song was the best though. That was probably the song he knows inside out and always sings on shows. On the Flowers in the Wind he straggled a bit in my opinion.

I think he looks a bit like Sam Nixon, only better. Cant believe he's only 16 though. Ranking alongside Calvin as another barely-appropriately-fanciable-soapstar/superstar, surely*? It's quite bizzarre seeing him as a 'mini goff' in Corrie and not caring, then cheering him on in this.
*just seen the other thread for the show. Glad I'm not alone in this thinking.

He done well on I can't read you .. He needs to be given more uptempo songs like them.
To be honest, i think Richard was better than Daniel on I can't Read you .. I think if/when Richard gets signed, he'll be big, given the right music.

Anyone know if he can play a guitar? Surely that would seal it for him Yeah he can play guitar, and a few other instruments too according to the Soapstar Superstar website. I think the 'other' instruments might just be triangle and maracas though.

Sue Jenkins, a legendary soapstar veteran of both 'Coronation Street' and 'Brookside'. Hurrah to Jackie Corhill. Hmmm, yes, I've got a soft spot for Richard too. It scares me when I think how young he is, but didn't Sharon O have a thing for Shayne Ward? Ha Ha x

Sharon O had something lovely to give Shayne. "It was warm and lovely and nice-smelling". Apparantly.

And today he is singing Mr Bojangles which Sam sang on PI2! ... I'm still traumatised by that... I remember it was buttock clenchingly awful. Fleeshman's version was better, much, much better, but it's still not a song a 16 year old should be singing.
