Hello.
It's out on November the 7th and as Basement Jaxx are the best thing since..air, it's an ace song.
Sounds a bit M.I.A esque and like Cish Cash from Kish Kash but is very excellent.
They played it randomly this morning on Soccer A.M during the Division 1 highlights.
Enjoy!

What have basement jaxx done to deserve the "featuring basement jaxx" bit? Have they just remixed it or something?
I've also just discovered the Sov's supporting The Go! Team next month. I'm not sure if I'm happy or sad about that.

Yes!! This is VERY good news!
Lady Sov is an absolute star and this song will surely give her the recognition she rightfully deserves. And the JAXX are just mindblowing anyways, so i'm VERY excited!

I don't know, I'm not sold on this track. As much as I love The Sov...

I'm listening to a track by The Sov now called 'Adidas Hoodie', is this the pre-Jaxx version of 'Hoodie' or the one they've done together?
I love the lyric: "You were looking at me as if to say I was ginger"

I love this song. I am going to stalk Lady Sovereign if Whiney's Septum doesn't stalk her first.

I'm just mad as she's going to be in Manchester just before I get back there. If only she'd come to Amsterdam... hah
EDIT to ask: has anyone else heard the remix of "Little Bit Of Shhh!" that's on the new Run The Road 2 album? It's brilliant.

Well, it's out next week. I doubt anyone will buy it which is a shame because it's brilliant.
Missy Elliot is also getting involved in the new album and that's direct from Sov's lips but whether it will happen we can only speculate at. In saying that, MIA was on Missy's last album and she does like to duet with all the new talent.

Genius song, cannot wait for my copy to arrive in the mail from the UK.
Regarding the Missy speculation - I've heard much of the same about the traps as well. If anyone can show the world how amazing the Sov really is, then it'll be Missy.

I heard a mix of "Hoodie" which used Marilyn Manson's version of "Tainted Love " as the music and it was utterly genius, but I can't find it anywhere - any help anyone ?

have to say I'm a little disappointed by the Jaxx mix - it feels like the a tacked on track onto the rap. I know Jaxx can do better (c.f. The Missy Elliot 4 My People remix - pop heaven) The remixes however (Mizz Beats / Brucker & Sinden) ..... oh yes!

I utterly adore Lady Sovereign and really do wish her success with this song, especially since I'm extremely fond of it myself but it does mystify me that it's this one that seems to be propelling her into chartsfamedom, rather than her last one (which I can't remember the name of because I've been up all night doing an as-yet-unfinished essay on humanitarian intervention, so you'll have to forgive me) which I thought would have a wider appeal.
Still, as I mentioned, I haven't slept, so I'm probably just finding it challenging to understand anything.

I need to pre-order the singles soon.
Her website mentions something about recording for an upcoming mixtape, and something about the track involving Jay-Z. I've kept my eye on the mixtape releases, but haven't seen anything yet!

The America only release of Vertically Challenged (an EP of her old stuff) is out and you can get it off Amazon UK on import. The Beastie Boys have remixed one of her songs but I don't know which it is. Also, the word on the street (I’ve always wanted to say that) is that the SOV is going down a storm in New York where a reviewer labelled her 'mallpunk' which, as I said to ThereThere, is a thousand times catchier than 'grime'.
During the Knitting Factory gig where Missy was in attendance (she's another name in the frame for a SOV song) someone from the audience shouted out, "Fuck Jentina!" Even better, the SOV done Sad Arse Strippa live in Glasgow and we all sang along.
It was fab, we all had a great laugh, though I could swear someone was smoking dope.
EDIT: I will, of course, go back to my other name but I decided to alter it for this week only as a celebration of my favourite 'mallpunk' midget. Besides, Dr Tweedy sounded daft.

I, er, "found" a copy of this song on the net, but it's different from any of the versions featured on savethehoodie. It's really excellent though, very upbeat and crazy, kinda silly too. I've been sort of undecided on Lady Sov but this track definitely does the business!

Ad Rock's covered A Little of Shh! but to be honest, as much as I love Sov and the Beasties...I'm a bit dissapointed by the remix. Much prefer the Medasyn mix.

I've heard that Sad Arse Strippa is going on the album but with a different backing track. And thank you for that wonderful bootleg.
