Anyone a fan?
It's quite easy to dismiss them as "schmindie same-old, same-old" but I think they have a lot of charisma and the tunes are dancable in an indie way.
I am also a fan of Editors, Art Brut, The Departure and Maximo Park at the moment. I'm going through an indie phase.

I think they're great, and very enjoyable live too. I am also into Art Brut in a big way (TOP OF THE POPS!) and rather fond of Maximo Park and Editors, so perhaps I should find another messageboard.

When I first heard Capture/Release I thought it was a bit average compared to some of the other Paul Epworth-produced efforts, but it's grown on me. Strasbourg, 22 Grand Job and Retreat are good tunes.
Also gonna give props to Maximo Park, Editors and Art Brut Top Of The Pops. The day shall come!

The Rakes are one of the best live band's I've seen in a while - so full of humor and energy

I personally think that...
"Walk home / come down / retreat / to sleep Wake up / go out / again / repeat
Walk home / come down / retreat / to sleep Hook up / again / this time / next week"
...is one of the best lyrics I heard in space year 2005.
Hurrah for The Rakes - the nearest band to Art Brut who aren't actually Art Brut (or the Art Goblins).

My life-long dream is to be one of The Rakes '22 Grand Job' girls. I know the dance routine and everything.

My work-filled final year of uni is keeping me away from their new tour...with Duels and White Rose Movement supporting! Goddammit, this degree better be worth it.
