The Morning After Show
'The Morning After Show' is a brand new live comedy magazine show with Simon Amstell (Popworld), Olivia Lee (T4)and comedienne Barunka O'Shaughnessy.
Bringing us up to date every Sunday with an irreverent look at everything happening in the world this week, T4's newest entertainment show features live stunts and demonstrations in the studio, and items from comedians around the country. Come join us for Sunday lunchtime!
The pilot is being recorded on the 20th of March. Personally the show sounds a bit dodgy to me, (stunts and demonstrations??) but hopefully simon will be just as funny on this as he is on popworld

As Simon's said that one of the show's influences is Lee and Herring's This Morning With Richard Not Judy it should hopefully be very ace indeed.

Hmmmm sounds interesting. Possibly one of those programmes that could either be hilariously funny are completely embarrassing.

This sounds like the Sunday Show with Donna McPhail and Katie Pukrick.

Surely he'd be better off doing a show on a different day. Why have both on T4 Sunday?

does no one else find his jokes cringe worthy?? I do. sometimes he is funny, mainly when interviewing someone that is playing along with him, most of the time I wonder if the Martiqua(?) is paid to laugh

"The Corr Shrine, Stu - call it by its name."
I did enjoy Lee and Herring's resignment to being thrashed by Dawson's Creek.
No real reason why this project shouldn't be good, if enough thought is put into the items (a la Popworld). If it's an hour long, however, these things seem to run out of steam a bit as they desperately try to come up with enough items.
Who is Barunka O'Shaughnessy?

Who is Barunka O'Shaughnessy? She's a crazy blonde lady who's nearly very funny. There's a section where Simon visits people with mundane jobs and brings them joy. It's good.

I went to the filming of the pilot. It does run out of steam, the jokes aren't funny and it's a bit embarrassing watching them. Simon is funny and saves the show just about but he does rely on being g*y and Jewish for most of his jokes. He doesn't need to though as he's a funny guy. Baruka sucks don't know why she's there. They have a bowling-cam which is funny but might have been done before.

I just wanted to post here so that it's three people in a row who were all at the pilot filming and considering it was a very tiny audience that's no mean feat.

'just as funny as he is on Popworld? - are we watching the same person?'

does no one else find his jokes cringe worthy?? Simon Amstell is a cunt. It is that simple. Having said that i would like to see him go head to head with Queens Of Noize, who I consider to be his female counterparts. I would also be interested to find out who is richest. My money's on Amstell but I would geuss QON have contracted more STI's... This was meant to be a serious post about the many ways in which I find Simon Amstell lacking but my tiny childs brain has reduced it to a slagging off session. Ho Hum.

Simon Amstell is a cunt. It is that simple. It's not that simple though is it? Because several people here know him personally. Being one of them, I would say he isn't a cunt. I would say he's really nice and a very clever TV presenter. Just one you don't happen to get. What on earth he has in common with two DJ/groupies I couldn't begin to guess.

Is anyone going to watch another filming? I'm going to go this Sunday, I want to give it another chance I think. I was a little harsh in judging it I think.....

I'm going again on the 24th. I think it's going to work pretty well. I'm not sure it's going to be must see tv but it's on at a really good time for casual viewers. The prospect of more than one Amstell in a day is pretty exciting.

When does it start on TV? Jessica Tomorrow on Channel 4 at 1.30pm. I didn't realise H Side Story was finished! Serves me right for not concentrating on the last episode.

This actually sounds like it may be quite good. I do like Simon Amstell, he's a good presenter. They should get him as guest presenter on cd:uk! I must remember to set my alarm so I don't over sleep for tomorrow's programme. I had wanted to watch H Side Story, but kept over sleeping and so I missed it. I will not let this happen again!!
