There appears to be a whole show of them NOW on BBC1. I'm afraid you are too late for Bananarama and Madonna and some of the other greats, but I'm sure you'll get some good ones if you are quick.

We also saw Sonia, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Guns and Roses. Some filler, which was inevitable for a show of that length, but they really have managed some classics and get things spot on.

It was. "Thank you the-sau-uuu-uurus".
And the week before had the genius Corrs sketch, Bjork and the Missy/Madonna/Britney sketch, which is quite possibly the best thing they've ever done.

i bloody missed most of it not realising they were on.
Does anyone know where I could see the Shakespeares Sister spoof? That was always one of my favourites from their music spoof collection.

i bloody missed most of it not realising they were on. Well that makes two of us,it was supposed to be on TONIGHT,but the Pope is going to his last restingplace,so i guess it was last-minute rescheduling. Their earlier work is not as funny as the latest, but they sure did wonderful jobs at it. I think i remember Shakespear's Sister being done with involvement of a foghorn, but i could be mistaken.

I love the raw sex PSB one. I had it on video until recently.
but you just keep on standing there with a keyboard and a tv someone else has leant you ... they love it, it pays our rent
Brilliant.
Also the one with Raw Sex and Kirsty MaColl doing "something stupid" [is that the right song title?]
Boring link: Roland Rivron of Raw sex was the brother of my games teacher and uncle of his two kids who were in my school.

it was half an hour of the best tv of the week, even if it was basically repeats.
the Shakespear's Sister one is genius, as is Alanis. There was the Lananeeneenoonoo one too, and Boyzone.
Whoever writes the songs gets them spot on.
The Sophie one was hilarious "I was head of my goddamn house you know!"

I love the martine one. It hit the nail right on the head.
Also the makeup, camera shots and sets are always spot on to the original which is one of the things that makes them so good. You coul dbe excused for mistaking them for the originals if you didnt hear the song or maybe were'nt paying full attention to the people.

The fact that Jennifer Saunders looks almost exactly like anyone she's taking off is vaguely scary.
Ben, you're right about mistaking them for originals if you're not paying attention. The Bono sketch could have been him.

Personally I dont wish for Ms Whitehouse to rest in peace. I think in searching for offense in everything she became just as perverse as what she was condemning.

The Shakespears SIster Foghorn sketch was The Mary Whitehouse (RIP) Experience if I'm not wrong. Hang on,wasn't that with Dalziel and Pascoe or something? Man,that was a good show, not as good as F&S ofcourse, but close!

Where was the Catatonia spoof?
That was at the same time as Aimless Morris Minor...
"I'll squat in your cottages, you weekending bastards!"
