According to the boys website they aren't leaving. The show's just taking a break for the Summer and Sam, Mark and Fearne will be back in September.

Sounds like the boys have had their wrists slapped for telling fans they are leaving and going back to music. It all seems strange to me that they would tell fans one thing and then their website makes an official announcement. Bearing in mind the website never tells the fans anything.
19 cracking the whip again. Why would they spend money on them getting them back into music when they have a slice of their income from presenting.

It sounds like they are keeping their options open, or possibly intend to spend the Summer recording music, see how it goes, what kind of reaction they're going to get, then decide if going back to presenting will put people off, or be the best way of letting them communicate with their fans.

It's all very confusing indeed. The way they were talking just 2 weeks ago made it sound like they were leaving TOTPS for good, nothing was mentioned about returning in the Autumn. Perhaps things were still hanging in the balance at the time.
Sam has said that he is forming a band to do 'as a hobby'... so it sounds like he will do that in his free time along side the presenting

I like Sam and Mark. They both good singers. I liked Mark more, because he has better voice than Sam. Their job on Saturday Top Of The Pops was a shame. I'm happy they would do music again, but I prefer them to do solos. Mark is amazing singer and have a good voice. he could be very popular solo singer. I hope they would have better luck this time.

I am aware of all of this, but the thing you have failed to recognise is that they werent very succesful pop artists, so they are unlikely to draw a crowd beyond their core fans for that. You've also failed to notice that they aren't on the show as pop stars, but as presenters. It's also worth pointing out that your three facts don't seem to have any kind of running semblance, or have anything to do with your previous argument. Thinking before posting is always a great idea. Are you sure the teacher will let you use the crayons? They were not popular? S&M first single was #1. How more popular artist could be? Their problem is that their record company didn't give them the chance to release album. We don't know how good or bad could be this album, because we never heard the songs they creat. It's very easy to judge them, when everything is not their fault. Now I understadn why in Uk all pop acts failed. The record companies just drop them all the time and they even don't want to give them a chance. I saw Nick Carter in your avatar. I want to ask you question. What whould happen with the Backstreet Boys if Jive would drop them after theiir first single was released on # 69 in USA? I can bet there would be no BSB at all. Bakstreet Boys worked 3 years before they got recognised like group and before their single became a hit. Every group or singer need the time to release themselves. The UK record companies didn't want to wait. They want success today, when some singers can get success just couple of years later. It's unfair to the singers, when record companies don't give them chance or opportunity to make the music. Rina

Well said Rina.
The music wasn't brilliant but they were not given a chance to develop. Although, having said that I still think they should never have been put in a duo together. They would have had more success solo with their own type of style and music.

Thank god they're gone. AS if the BBC couldn't do better, even for the kids that watch TOTPS.
