It's headed down hill rapidly since cat left. I mean:
- Giving competition details twice (although they have always done that)
- Giving a choice of 3 performances to vote for (of which only Coldplay was any good) and giving the details twice.
- Extending the breaks
- Having an interview with Craig David (imca)
- Having Dave Berry and Nicki or whoever she is
- Freeloader!?
- Akon, choir kids on helium and a birthday cake. I switched off after that I think.
It was so poor. Mariah's god awful miming was amusing in a tragic sort of way - why does she need to mime (badly) a track like that?!
The only half decent thing was Mc Fadden's video (not him I hasten to add) that looked distinctly Frozenesque which can only be a good thing.
Oh I give up...

It's headed down hill rapidly since cat left. Even though all those things you list have nothing to do with Cat leaving and everything to do with there not being any decent acts to put on this week. And Nikki Sanderson is great. I hope they can get her permanently. She doesn't patronise, doesn't pretend, and doesn't make mistakes. And she has fuck-me teeth.

Nikki is also a Britney fan and seems to love pop on a whole so she makes for a perfect presenter on CD:UK.
Other than her I thought the show was quite watchable today and Dave is really quite good. Mariah's performance was very laughable though. The way she just dropped the mic to her side and kept singing. DId she even know she had a microphone?

The only three words that need to be said about Saturdays CDUK are "Mariah Carey's Boobs". Bloody hell, who picked that outfit for her?

The outfit did nothing for her, and I speculate that she had numerous tubes of araldite holding everything 'in'.

Long live Sir Amstell of Pop I loved it when she said she was massive fan of Mariah Carey. It felt so real and true. I'd connected and thought if she can like Mariah. Then so can I.

CD:UK are allowed no more appearances by bands on the same label as Razorlight. Simon can say what he wants because Popworld is a minority show. But he pisses off record companies. We like him for it, they hate him for it. CD:UK is a commercial show and can't afford to piss off anyone or it'll lose exclusives, lose advertising and be taken off air. Never mind the fact that just because you think Razorlight are shit doesn't mean CD:UK does. So why should they say otherwise? What you don't seem to grasp is that CD:UK's job is to reflect what's popular in the charts. It's not there to slag off music, it's there to celebrate it.

And why would she be feigning anything if she said she liked them? That makes no sense at all. But it doesn't matter what she does or doesn't like. Her job is to present a show, not opinions. What's so hard about that concept to grasp?

It was so poor. Mariah's god awful miming was amusing in a tragic sort of way - why does she need to mime (badly) a track like that?! Most of your post was laughably ill-informed but this point stuck out. Let me clear this up for you. Some artists don't like miming but occasionally for technical reasons, TV shows demand that they do so. Mariah's performance may or may not have been a reaction to this. Like a lot of artists, she probably likes to sing the song a different way every time, thus making the miming look poor. But my point is, whether or not to mime is very rarely an artist's decision.

Bullshit , if she's that much of a diva that she can demand a red carpet to be rolled out for her at 2am in the morning, i'm sure she can demand to sing live on a television programme. After all, it is her job. She's a good singer and has sung on many programmes before, so why she's decided now that its time to mime badly to a record without a heavy dance routine is a little odd.

Do you believe everything you read in the papers? Red carpet at 2am? Do you know how PR works? As for the miming...trust me, it's not always the artist who controls whether they mime or not. CDUK in particular asks a lot of artists to mime for technical reasons. It's not always possible for an artist to sing live.

There are no technical reaons why she mimes, she is jsut lazy. She always mimes on UK TV.

CDUK in particular asks a lot of artists to mime for technical reasons. It's not always possible for an artist to sing live. Over the years she has generated quite a reputation for behaving in that manner, whether or not the red carpet incident happened is beside the point, the fact is there has to be some truth in the accusations of her being a 'diva' or else she wouldn't be called one in the first place, after all, any artist could be called a 'diva' why does it happen to be Mariah that is chosen?Publicity tends to be about enhancing a situation and whilst i don't believe everything i read, in many stories there is a degree of truth in them. I am sure if she was that bothered about miming, an artist of her worldwide status would be able to request to. For the promotion of her latest single, she hasn't sung live on television once, so it spells that currently on her UK tv performances, she hasn't bothered to. I am aware that on not all television programmes artists can sing live, but you would think with the amount of promotion for the single that she would find a way to sing live at least once, if she was bothered enough to want to.

I don't see why we have to have one or the other- an indie or a pop lover. How about someone who is enthusiastic about Razorlight and Britney? Such people do exist- Nicki seemed to share that philosophy. Regardless, she was good.
