Chika is like a condensation of Chicken Tika. And Li Che sounds like Lychee, of the tinned variety. Chicken Tikka Lychees. Lovely. The cleouk spammer doesn't lie though - that site's messageboard actually does have a few rare traks that are free to download.

Why are you questioning Cleopatra's validity as an act? They wrote and performed their own songs and their career's in the spotlight only ended because of a record label fuck up. They were a decent pop act and unlike a lot of singer/songwriter types, they weren't ashamed to be absolute pop.

They were a decent pop act and unlike a lot of singer/songwriter types, they weren't ashamed to be absolute pop. They were also obnoxiously arrogant and full of their own self importance- Cleo especially. Their early stuff was quite fun, but incredibly tedious and Cleo's vocals grated after two singles. I really can't say having them back is something to be enthusiastic about.

All Cleopatra's greatest moments happened on the television. One was where they came to present an award at the Brits. Rather than do anything normal, they just sung "Cleopatra, comin' atcha" into the microphone before announcing the nominees.
Also Zainam had the best taste in dungarees and hats.

I think it will be interesting to hear if the really high notes can still be reached, now that the girls have matured somewhat.I shall look forward to this.
But....what..a ..stupid..name...for..a..child! Imagine the scenario-20 years time this poor person is waiting for a job interview and the prospective employer comes out and calls"Miss Chika Li Che Mckenzie please"

gonna get shot for this but the world would be 10 times better if cleopatra had sung No Good Advice originally, they nailed the verses (lost it a bit in the chorus tho but their vocals were fantastic!).
i want them to comeback so much. i *heart* cleo! maybe they will reform properly and kick ass. who are they tring to kid with their "solo projects" they know cleo is the only one who would cut it and so far she aint so they should bit the bullet and comeback!

Their performance of No Good Advice was immense - Girls Aloud should watch and learn. As much as i love The Aloud, i agree! Their own live performance (singing live on TOTP) wasn't anywhere near as good as Cleopatras! Well done!

Their performance of No Good Advice was immense - Girls Aloud should watch and learn. Oh please. I don't know what was worse, the out of harmony on the choruses, or Cleo going all Mariah Carey at the end. It was cringe worthy. Nice to see the youngest one isn't so fat anymore though.

I missed No Good Advice (If anyone could point me in the direction of a website, that'd be lovely!), but Cleopatra's Theme was a brilliant performance. Considering they can't have performed together for years - and when they did, they'll have all been teenagers, learning their trade, they totally owned the stage.
Bollocks to Cleo's solo career, bring back the whole band! More cheesy soul pop, please!

Their performance of the song was great, but I don't agree about it being better if they had done it originally, they certainly wouldn't have taken it to #2 in the charts.

I don't know what was worse, the out of harmony on the choruses, or Cleo going all Mariah Carey at the end. To me it was definitely the Careyesque warbling. But I thought the version was great fun generally. They had a bit more muscle than Girls Aloud, but it wasn't overpowering. You still remember how good the original is after having heard it.

I just loved them! They looked and sounded so flippin hot! Jenny you really are a pathetic hating idiot! Go girls!!! Their second album was the bomb aswell!!! and the Chika is a beautiful name! li che (lee shay) is her middle names! do u get called by all your names? Cleopatra... you tore it up! can't wait for Cleo's stuff!!! www.cleouk.comPlease read the rules, cleouk. There is no need to use quite so many exclamation marks, and it really isn't that much harder to type "you" than it is to type "u". Also, being rude to other posters will not gain you favour.

Jenny you really are a pathetic hating idiot! She's not. She's lovely. If maybe a bit outspoken. She made has made me appreciate Rooster even more than I would have otherwise. I'm not sure if that's a good thing, but it feels like it. (By the way - I bumped in to Jimmy Page in a bookshop in Notting Hill on Friday. (It must have been him, but if anybody can contradict this - fine.) I should have told him that the Rooster guitarist is better and more fun than him; but I guess I didn't have enough balls to do it.) Back to Cleo. Am I the only person who think their "I want you back" is better than the original?

Back to Cleo. Am I the only person who think their "I want you back" is better than the original? Yes! I love The 'Patra to an unhealthy extent, but the original is one of the best records, like, EVAH.

Having listened to this a second time, I'm flabbergasted that anyone could think it's better than the original, or even Girls Aloud's live TOTP version. The vocals on the first verse are incredibly weak, and most of the harmonies are off. Factor in that they don't appear to remember half of the lyrics, and I don't think the Aloud will be having any sleepless nights any time soon.
