I thought there'd be a flurry of posts on this already.
It's just been premiered on CDUK. Now, I've never been a huge fan of Rachel, and think she's yet to do a decent video. BUT! The video for 'So Good' is excellent, and she truly looks like a star in it, for possibly the first time ever. The choreography is excellent, and for a change, her performance doesn't let the song down.
Excellent.

I have to say that I was quite impressed too, I like the song and the video. I think she will do well with this.

Her best video since LA Ex - I can see a lot of Daft Punk's "Around The World" in that video, plus Rachel's eyes look hot, and I like her gloves. This has to be her best shot at going to #1.

I thought it looked a bit cheap and she looked a lot like Kylie.

I missed this, can someone describe it to me? I'm not sure how successful she will be with her new material though, I love it but it might be trying to hard to be trendy pop...

my friends came over early in the morning just to snuggle around on my bed to watch Rachel's single video "So Good."
We were all anticipating how the great SONG will turn out on a video.
Once the video ended..we were ALL SCREAMING!!!
It's such a fab video! Although its not summery looking, the theme of the video suits the song very well.
Cheers Rachel and #1 here u go

What theme of the video? It's just her standing in front of some lights! At least the Sweet Dreams video tried to have a theme with a glass box and ribbons

I like the song, but the video is boring. It's exactly the same concept as the "More, more, more" video (nice background, Rachel and a few dancers) and that was slated on here.
I think Rachel needs to make more interesting videos. "Negotiate with love" was a step forward but also two back in my opinion. It was good because it wasn't just a pretty background with some dancers, it added a story to the video. I think "Negotiate with love" would have been her best video, had it included a dance routine as well.
In my opinion; Just dancing = boring Just acting out a story = boring Telling a story as well as having a dance breakdown = brilliant.

The video suits the song very well. Although it is not as summery as we thought it would be, it's still good. If you noticed towards the end of the video, Rachel looks back into a bright light which represents the sun. So I guess that can be a summery vision. However, this song doesn't really consist of a theme besides the fact that the lyrics portray a sense of confidence. Example: "Gonna show you I made it on my own, again I'll get back on my feet againI know I'm gonna feel So good, and so good, and so good" " I'd like to watch you suffer ever so slightly You better watch your back, you better beware'Cause it's you" Rachel looks so strong and confident in the video. She shows a great sense of control.

She didn't make it on her own though did she? If she was never in S Club 7 she'd probably be serving chips on blackpool seafront or something.

Because that's where everyone who wasn't in S Club 7 ends up. I take you're the potato peeler. Infact Rachel has made it on her own as much as anyone else has in their life. You can say 'well they wouldn't be where they are today if...' about any and everyone and then list hundreds of things like offers created by others, twists of fate or luck but at the end of the day it's just as much our own initiative in how we make these opportunities happen or act on them when they come along that puts us where we are. Therefore essentially we all make it on our own.

I can see a lot of Daft Punk's "Around The World in that video Yes! That's the similarity I can see too. And I'll second everyone- this is a fantastic video-great look, great choreography- to accompany a great song. Bravo Rachel.

I do like the look of the video but its not one I would watch every time it came on TV because nto a lto really happens. It is very pretty and much better than More More More, but I personally prefer the type of video like Some Girls or Negotiate With Love, which are just more interesting. She should have added more quirky bits or done a proper remake of the Around The World video to improve it for me, but it seems to have gone down pretty well with most people so it must be a success. And the song is fantastic - it has been growing on me since I first heard it, I just don't want to hear it too much now or it'll be spoiled. I'm really really looking forward to the album - does anyone have an idea of the release date yet (and I don't mean a guess, cos then I'll only be disappointed when it's not true)?

I don't understand how anyone could really love this video... it's alright, but it's SO terribly boring! Seriously, no offense, but a video like this would be laughed at if they tried to play it on MTV America...

If this video had been cut together with "Negotiate with love", it would have been Rachel's finest video I think, combining "funky dance bit" with "story".
On its own, it's boring.

PERIOD I live in America, too. And yes, we have more than our fair share of bad videos as well. I just could not imagine seeing this video on TV here, they would never play it. It's not completely unwatchable (like Some Girls, for example), it's just blah and boring and cheap and if someone were to see it on TV, I don't see what would keep them from changing the channel. I guess the thing that irks me is that a lot of people here think it's great stuff, when it seems so blatantly mediocre to me...

I agree with Storm in that I think Rachel has yet to do a truly awesome video, but this is a valiant attempt. I disagree with the posters who say it looks cheap - I'd say it looks inexpensive, but "cheap" to my mind has connotations of being tatty and half-arsed, which I don't think this video is. It's a solid concept, well-executed, and it suits the song. Whoever said it takes a good song and makes it great upthread had the right idea.
One thing, though: when I was watching this, I couldn't help thinking "she really wants to change her name to Rachel Goldfrapp, doesn't she?"
