I trust we were all watching this, yes? I almost forgot it was on, but thankfully I channel-hopped across Five just at the beginning.
Hilarious, I thought. I'm still trying to decide which is the better movie, this or Crossroads. It's definitely going to be a photo finish.
The girl who was playing Holly had this look across her face all "I wish Kirsten Dunst would just hurry up and die already so that I can actually get some more work".
And that finale was either the best or the most terrifying piece of television I have ever seen. Possibly both.

Why was there no future warning on this? This is the britney esque film we are talking about?

Wait, are we talking about the same "Brave New Girl" Created-By-Britney movie that came out in the USA on Fox Family like 1-3 years ago? That movie is OLD... I never saw it though. I remember the ads for it

Yep - I would have warned, but I only discovered it was on a day or so ago, and I've been in my parents' internetless backwater ever since. Sorry. EDITED TO ADD: I did tape about 85% of it, though. If you're all lovely to me I'll throw a Brave New Girl party and the entire messageboard can come to my house and watch it. Er, possibly.

I remember the ads for it Well it said 2004 in the Radio Times so unless they're mistaken its not that old. Plus it used a song title from In The Zone which is not that old either. I had never actually heard of this movie until today and I annoyingly missed the start but I did rather enjoy in a Crossroads-esque way. It was fun and cute and so very Britney. Jessica

Sadly I didn't notice Holly saying that she had to remember that bible passage, or cattily referring to her mother as "birthmark" - in fact, her mother didn't even have a birthmark. And there were lots of Britney references. And an American Idol one.

Jessica Yeah it's the same movie then... It came out in November 2003 (I Believe) and I do remember that the song came out for the movie before the album In The Zone was released. I may be wrong though, but I'm pretty sure it was late 2003 because that's when I was still living at my old house and I remember being in my old room watching the previews for it. Wow, go my memory go!

The best scene was when the mother was crying in the bar at how her daughter had to go to college, and 'Stronger' came on, prompting her to ask a suprised portulant waitress to 'Turn it up'. She commenced singing along and the uplifting message of the chorus got her motivated out of her slump!
