This series hit the wall hard three years ago. Is it possible to say anything at all about the audition episodes that you couldn't say having not even seen them?

"I only sing to turkeys!" is my new catchphrase, and you definitely wouldn't be able to say that without watching the programme. So there!

I'm looking forward to the group performances next week. That's always hilarious. I was rather surprised that the beardy twins got through, aren't they criminals?

I'm looking forward to the group performances next week. That's always hilarious. I was rather surprised that the beardy twins got through, aren't they criminals? The Hollywood rounds were taped in advance, before it was found out. One of the producers did an interview saying that during next week's shows they will be leaving the show in a very conspicious manner, which I assume means would be a public kicking out.

Loving it so far. The guy with the grey hair is ace. Like Dan Penn or Eddie Hinton.

Those gay black twins are hillarious. I hate them. Why on earth did they get put through when they were crap? And I thought the gay cowboy was rubbish as well.

I thought once we got to the Hollywood episodes, everyone would be decent -- after all, they got through the first round of auditions. But it seems like they've deliberately let some awful ones through just to keep the comedy going.
Which is commendable, really.

I was dissapointed with the Britnam twin's kicking out. It was a bit of footage of the news with the information then just a "they are disqualified". I guess after all the whining they did throughout the groups, then one of them mishearng Simon and QUITTING for the both of them and finally begging for forgiveness, I can understand why they cut any more screen time for them.

I didn't see the final 12 gals sing, but from the recap at the beginning of the boy's show last night, there were some really good ones.
The lads, on the other hand, were ridiculous. Only like 3 are possibly decent, but there is one that is clearly making it to the final 3...they shouldn't even bother having him on until the end.

The guys are awesome this year. I like Ace, Chris and Elliot the most so far. For girls, Katharine, Mandisa and Melissa are my favorites but they're weak compared to the guys.

Lord...the guys were awful! If the girls are weak compared to the guys, then I'm dreading the full performances from the women!

But thats what makes it so trashy adictive!
I love Paris (complete with new weave) Lisa, Katharine,Kellie,David, Elliott, Ayla and Ace
Jose is one of the singers that Randy and Paula always love, but me, Simon and probaly every biritish person cant stand
Taylor scares me

I find Kellie Pickler possibly one of the most annoying people in the world. Her VT thing before her performcance just made me want to vomit. I don't even think there's anything that spectacular about her.
My mum saw the recaps and instantly started shouting at the TV that Simon Cowell was mean when she saw Kevin and what was said about him. He just looks incredibly scary to me.

Out of the girls, I love Paris, but the other girls do all merge into one a bit. I like Lisa (though I keep calling her Nina, like Nina Tucker/Delta Goodrem in Neighbours) and Mandisa and I thought Kinnik didn't get as good comments as she deserved for her performance. Katharine seems jolly and Kellie is amusing although not that good. The others are all pure nothingness, except Brenna who is not even a millionth as fabulous as she thinks she is.
As for the boys, they may be the weirdest bunch you could possibly find, but at least they make for an interesting show. Will is my favourite, just for being really cute. The best name in musical history has to be Ace Young. It's like I invented him, but I promise I didn't! Elliott looks like a criminal (and it wouldn't be a surprise if he was, with this show's track record) but he's good, as is Chris, who seems a nice person too, as does Kevin, though he looks about 6. The others are all a bit scary, though - David for his unmatching voice and body (kids with swing voices really bother me), Bucky looks worryingly like Britney Spears but also very smelly, Gedeon's smile is properly creepy. Taylor is weird but I always enjoy his performances, he seems genuinely talented. Sway is completely dull and even shorter than Ryan which is quite amazing.

This is my first viewing of American Idol, and it drives me mad.
The girls dancing and trying to catch the camera's attention while the blokes sung was the most hideous thing I've seen in a while.
Only one I like is Chris Daughtry. The grey haired one scares me, and all the women look and sound the same, apart from Mandisa who is OK.

I'm addicted to this, like every year. I like the fact that it's really open this year - I think Lisa, Paris, Katharine, Ace, Chris and Elliot are all really strong contenders this time. That said, this time last series, both Mario and Nadia seemed like surefire contenders, and that didn't quite work out. I'd never have placed Vonzell in the top three either, so who knows what will happen.............

Will is still my favourite, I thought it was unfair that he didn't get better comments this week when he was much better than the week before (but he was the singing the song of death last week so he didn't have much of a chance). As the other male contestants prove, a boy who is cute and can sing is not easy to find so they should really be a bit nicer before he gets forgotten.
I annoyingly managed to miss the girls' show this week, and now I can't find any of the performances on YouTube, which is strange cos they were all there last week. I wonder if there's a bit of censorship going on, I did hear of some SNL clips being removed and a few music videos recently.

Elliott was the best by a country mile last - and every - week (though Chris was good - and got the better response from the judges). He may not be the 'poster boy' that Ace is (...and rather gorgeous HE is, too...), but he's easily the most gifted vocalist.
I like Will, too, for the cute-boy-with-a-pleasant-voice factor, but there's still a bit too much of the choir boy about him to come across as very passionate or soulful...but he may surprise me!
Kevin is cute, but not ready for winning this type of competition and I reckon he'll go either this week or next. Then again, he seems to have a growing fan base...!
As for the women, Mandisa seems the most accomplished, with Paris and Lisa close behind.
Simply love it all!

So into this now it's bloody ridiculous. Elliot's got to be my favourite, but his song last night was a bit dull. Out of the girls I like Paris. I think that the right four left last night. There are still another couple of obvious weak ones who will surely go in the first two weeks of the live final (the guy with a blonde ponytail, and the scary girl with the atrocious eye make up). Loving the judges too - particularly Simon and Randy.

The guy with the blonde ponytail? With the identical twin who looks like a cross between a paedophile and a hairdresser from Merthyr? That's Bucky!
I'm still amazed at how young they all are. Lisa's only 17 but is so seasoned she looks like a Minogue.

Poor Ayla-you could see she was devistated. She went purely through chose of song-her best perfomance was of Xtina's 'Reflection' and Celine Dion's 'I Want You To Need Me' so why sahe went for 'These Words' i dont know. All that on top of knowing the god awful Melissa got through instead of her-It made me cry too! Surprised Gedeon went, but im glad as the constant smiling thing was very freaky. How Taylor is still in i dont think il ever understand.
I hope Taylor and Melissa go next, followed by Kevin
