And as a singer, I find it quite baffling that another singer can't recognise that he's obviously a very gifted singer......... We're all singers, (singing afterall being a form of expression)! Just some of us are bad and and some of us are good (but even then it's all subjective). Can't see the relevence in your point though? Are you suggesting that because you might be a good singer that what you get out of his voice is somehow more right than those who aren't? And if so, isn't that missing the whole point of music (well any form of art infact)?

I really don't think it's the slight pudginess that is the singer-guy's problem. He just looks incredibly uncomfortable and non-popstar-like, but not in a good way. He's been drinking anti-charisma potion.

And if so, isn't that missing the whole point of music (well any form of art infact)? The voice is an instrument, just as the clarinet, trombone, guitar etc etc is. Whilst I'm not saying that someone without voice training can't appreciate a good voice, somebody with voice training will automatically pick up on someone that uses that particular 'instrument' well. In the same way, a trained violinist would pick up a great violin player better than what I would. Whether they like the way they use it however is purely subjective. I don't like Celine Dion's voice at all, but must admit that she uses her 'instrument' particularly well. Conversely, I love Mel Blatts voice, but think she uses her 'instrument' appalingly - she hardly uses her diaphragm at all, and as such, has little power and resonance to her voice. I would imagine that eventually she will damage it considerably. Tom Keane uses his instrument particularly well. His falsetto on 'She Has No Time' is flawless........

I don't hate Keane. I dislike them, but I don't find it impossible to hate them because they are so 'meh' that I simply don't care enough to hate them.
I suppose that's why I dislike them. Their music hasn't grabbed me, or made me feel anything other than 'meh'. I just find it terribly uninspiring. It's pleasant enough to listen to for 3 mintues on the radio, but I probably couldn't sit through a whole album. But then again, I don't intend on buying the album so that's that problem avoided.
Saying all this, I don't think Keane make bad music, Tom is by no means a bad singer, they are not bad musicians, they are not bad songwriters, they are just not my cup of tea that's all.
Although, I have to confess I do like the chorus of 'This Is The Last Time".
