I would vote for Ashlee Simpson too; she seems nice and some of her songs are pleasant enough, but the fact that she is singing them makes them borderline unlistenable. I don't like James Blunt or Chris Martin either.
Jessica, on the other hand, is actually a good singer. Or at least was. On "I Wanna Love You Forever," "I Think I'm In Love With You" and most of her first album, she is actually singing. Somewhere along the line, it seems, some 'genius' has told her to "breathe" the words rather than "sing" them, hence basically everything post-"Sweet Kisses" (although there are one or two songs on her later albums where she does actually sing).
And, alongside Macy Gray, I feel Shakira is an acquired taste - even if I didn't like her voice, which I personally think is unique, I could ignore it because her songs are just superb!

I hate Danny from McFly's voice. Makes my ears squirt blood for miles when I hear him "attempt" to sing. I use the term sing loosely. He seems to just use volume for his voice.

I really like his voice, I think it's gorgeous. It's much better than Tom Fletcher's too. I voted for Macy Gray because she sounds like she's got a sore throat. It's an "aquired taste" but one that grates on me straight away. And although I'm a massive busted fan, James' voice was sometimes so winy I wanted him to shut up.

I love Danny's voice too, but maybe that's because many of my favourite voices are deep, husky ones. Danny and Charlie both have similarly growly singing voices, although unlike Charlie's, Danny's Bolton speaking voice is unfortunately not quite as sexy.

The fact that I never took to Busted was due in no small part to their voices. Matt was OK, but James sounded like a chipmunk with a peg on its nose. As for Charlie, I don't know what title I'd give that horrendous, monotonous noise, but it wouldn't be singing.

As for Charlie, I don't know what title I'd give that horrendous, monotonous noise, but it wouldn't be singing. Matt has a fairly generic rock voice. James sounds like a hybrid chipmunk, true. If Charlie couldn't sing, he wouldn't have made it through the auditions in the first place. You should download his solo stuff, from the Suffolk Explosion, I think. Also, their version of Hark the Herald Angels. They really show off his voice and range. Which is fucking huge, actually, considering how deep his voice is. He's got a really pretty high range.

He speaks? I don't think I've ever heard him say a thing, it's always the smug blonde one who looks like Spike Milligan.

I had to vote for Jessica although Heather annoies me too i just don't like the nasally voice she has it's as bad as nails on a blackboard! Jessica though OH MY GOD she's just dreadful, it's the trilling, always with the trilling. I think she's pointless i have to mute my TV whenever she's singing her cover of Angels was awful! She is quite amusing on that TV show though, but surely she can;t be THAT dizzy it must be scripted!

I like James' voice, I love Matt's voice and I think Charlie can sing, he can do it both ways, although I'm not a fan of the emo scream thing..
But, I agree with whoever said, Tom and Danny from Mcfly, there voices get on my nerves.

Fergie from Black Eyed Peas has a particularly annoying voice.
It's hard to describe but it's kind of like a not-so-irritating Janice from Friends singing voice.
I hate the way she sings "no no no" on the latest piece of crap and the last piece of crap they released.
It's hideous.

I used to hate Charlie's monotonous whine, especially his bit in Sleeping With The Light On. Funily enough, it really does sound like he just doesnt want to be there. But then he grew his hair and got fit. I'm so fickle.

Will Young has to be the absolute winner when it comes to irritating singing voices. I only have to hear a second of him singing to make my toes curl, and NOT in a good way!
And on 'Leave right now' he sounds like a sheep.
