I don't want Dannii to be over, and I don't see her getting dropped because she's one of AATW's biggest artists, if not the biggest - the rest of their roster are one hit wonders and/or faceless dance acts. If Dannii still wants to release music, then I'm sure she will. Unfortunately, one of the main frustration for fans of Dannii is always going to be the timespan it takes her to do so.

ooh boyfromdevon, you beat me to it you bugger!
im sure we all agree, this is a fabulous tracklist. and thankfully, the above ISNT the running order of the album. i would hate to hear "all i wanna do" tucked inbetween "success" and "jump to the beat". i almost wish the dvd was sold separately for some reason, but of course im very happy with whats happening!

I'm not a huge dannii fan but i would have prefer all the singles including stuff like coconut and loves on every corner ever if they didnt do very well. And then a second cd with all the 5 new songs and some rarities and b sides like ever lasting night.

so the final list of singles left off dannii's greatest hits is as follows:
"i dont wanna take this pain" "show you the way to go" "loves on every corner" "this is the way" "get into you" "coconut" (oz only single) "everlasting night" (oz only single)
im quite happy with that really, only one i wish was on the album is "coconut". iv always loved it. "show you the way to go" was dropped from the tracklisting at the last minute, by dannii herself. none of these left off singles entered the top 25.

I so can't wait for this now although I do wish Love's On Every Corner and This Is The Way were on there (two of my favourites!)
I hope the final tracklisting is chronological too, it always annoys me when greatest hits packages jump around between different albums.
But these are minor grumbles, this should be good!

the tracklist isnt in chronological order, and thats good. we dont want the album to start with dannii's weakest songs! anyway, here is a lovely webpage full of dannii videos for you to watch, until you get the dvd. web.telia.com/~u57103618/danniiminogue.htm

You'll get your money's worth with this one. It is an excellent collection of tracks and videos, but I think it's success depends on how well Dannii does with So Under Pressure.

Thanks for that video extravaganza, gavinh - that's brilliant. no probs. i didnt make that page but im doing my bit to promo dannii's greatest hits. approaching 10 pages of discussion here and 9000 views, pretty good! there is certainly alot of interest in dannii right now, i really hope this translates into album sales.

Apparently So Under Pressure is going to be released on 29th May, according to "B4" on channel 4 this morning. I hope to god this is true because June 5th has TOO much competition!

Thanks for the link to the videos gavinh. Having just seen This Is The Way for the first time it's a real shame she's not doing a PSB PopArt-style DVD and including everything - what a fantastic 90s video. She looks like a cross between Lisa Scott Lee and Kelly Llorenna (and I say that with love!) Love her power dressing at the start and that stripe of bleach in her hair, those were the days!

Is the nerd at the end of the 'This Is The Way' video Julian McMahon (from Nip/Tuck/)? I know him and Dannii had a relationship, but I wasn't aware he'd appeared in one of her videos?

I think this is a good idea to have a greatest hits, she really wowed some of us americans with "I begin to wonder" and the entire "neon nights" album. That's like the only cd in the u.s. of hers, so it'll be nice to have a greatest hits to know her a little better before the new album. But i totally understand the fans being upset about not getting a new album.

Same can be said for Rachel Stevens; topics about her set this board on fire and yet her albums still flopped Poor Dannii is probably going to be releasing material during Kylie's 'comeback'. If Victoria Beckham has taught anyone anything it's to keep the hell away from the charts when K is in the singing mood. Kylie really fucked Vicky B up didn't she? Can't Get You Out Of My Head raised the bar above everyone....and brought it down on their heads, cracking their skulls and splatting the charts with ex Spice blood. Geri Halliwell couldn't compete either; I would argue that Kylie's revival brought about Geri's destruction as a solo singer. That and her rampant bulimia. (I sounded a bit like Dr Bastard there). Now, now, Ms Sophie Ellis-Bextor was hard at work ruining Posh's solo career long before the Minogue made her comeback.

people are interested in dannii, some love her, some dont. but you cant deny people are taking an interest. A few people quacking on an internet messageboard does not a career revival make. People may be talking about her, but are they going to buy the records? Word of mouth and interweb plaudits won't keep Dannii in botox and tanga briefs. The "who gives a toss" response to Dannii's recent lesbian romp story is as good an indication as any of how this album is going to go down in the general public.

Well, yes and no.
It's relevant insofar it was a desperate, cloying attempt at publicity by someone who is but a whisker away from hearing the death rattle of an overall unimpressive solo career.
It's not relevant in relation to damaging Dannii's fanbase etc, because it probably hasn't. Half the world's a fucking three-drink-lesbian these days.

The "who gives a toss" response to Dannii's recent lesbian romp story is as good an indication as any of how this album is going to go down in the general public. thats hardly relevant to dannii's music is it... Tell that to Madonna and Britney. In any case, all this talk about lipstick lesbians has reminded me of the one of the few memorable songs Dannii ever did - trashtastic Everlasting Night. It suffers majorly from chorus-itis (i.e., repeating a couple of words 150 times in the mistaken belief it constitutes a catchy chorus). And, of course, Dannii gets friendly with a dyker gal in the video (well, the song was recorded for the Sydney G & L Mardi Gras), but, all in all, not too shabby by Dannii's, err, standards?
