I love that Britney has a completely different agenda to what her record label does, like when she revealed last year she was half way through an album called 'Original Doll'. Jive denied it and they ended up releasing what were presumably the tracks recorded for said album on the Someday EP. And her busting her knee to avoid releasing 'Outrageous', she's hilarious. Pop needs Britney back. The knee injury also got her out of a tour that she didn't want to finish! She actually had a "full album" ready for "Original Doll" - there was a CD full of tracks she took into the radio station, with "Mona Lisa" on. "Chaotic" and "Over To You Now" were recorded for "In The Zone" back in 2003, so I don't think they would have been on it. Perhaps some of these tracks will be revamped for the 5th album.

I think that anything that is from Britney is a worthy cause for celebration. Pop definetly needs her, especially over her in American, she is actually a pop act that sparks curiosity even if it is partly because of her personal life.

Britney seems to have heard Rihanna's SOS: Posted April 17, 2006 06:45 PM top40-charts.com/news.php?nid=22716Jonathan 'J.R.' Rotem Smashes Charts With Rihanna, Lil Kim, 50 Cent April 17, 2006 Beverly Hills, CA (www.jonathanrotem.com) - With music genres crossing over each other in today's market, Jonathan "J.R." Rotem is one of the few producers skilled in creating sounds universal enough to keep the pace. With three current hits in regular radio and club rotation across the country - Lil Kim's "Whoa", Rihanna's "SOS (Rescue Me)" and 50 Cent with Olivia "Best Friend" - J.R. is proving that his magic touch is beyond compare. In just the past two years, J.R. has worked with the likes of Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Fabolous, Young Buck, Tony Yayo, Trey Songz, Jae Millz and Talib Kweli. He is currently in the studio with a multitude of artists, including pop princess Britney Spears, The Game, JoJo, Mya, Foxy Brown, Trick Daddy and Freeway. The son of an Israeli immigrants, South African-born and Bay Area-raised J.R. attended Boston's prestigious Berklee College of Music. His amazing talent on the piano and aspiration to score films were the perfect foundation for his music production. Early work with local artists, including members of E-40's camp, led him to his first official album placement with the song "Fancy" for the Destiny's Child album, Survivor. Currently, Rihanna's "SOS" is No 4 on Billboard Pop 100 airplay, is at No 11 on the Top 100 and going on nine weeks on the Billboard Hot 100. The video is also in heavy rotation on both MTV and BET. Meanwhile, Lil Kim's "Whoa" is riding high on the R&B/Hip Hop chart, and is the theme song for Lil Kim's BET reality TV show Countdown To Lockdown. Additionally, 50 Cent and Olivia's "Best Friend", the track that J.R. co-produced with Hi Tek for the Get Rich Or Die Tryin movie and soundtrack, is enjoying success on Billboard's Hot 100, Top 100 and R&B/Hip Hop charts. Whether you know him as Jonathan Rotem or J.R., there is no denying that his name holds weight. His ability to satisfy music fans across the board is a unique talent, and he is aware of the impact. "I'm happy to be commercially viable," he explains. "Having hits is society's way of telling you that they are feeling your music." For more information on Jonathan "J.R." You know, it seems that the whole Original Doll project will never see the light of the day. I mean, THAT album (called The Original Doll) was supposed to be VERY pop and VERY Euro (I remember that one track on it was a Minogue reject, some disco track called You Blow Hot And Cold)... THIS album will have tracks produced by Ne-Yo (!) and T-Pain (!!) on it... Don't get me wrong, I like R&B, but... What I mean is that, well, it's kinda sad...

Well S.O.S is really a pop sonmg. And Britneys stuff with the Neptunes is easily some of her best stuff, so it doesn't mean she is trying to be urban. Thing is some r'n'b producers are quite ghood, especially if they're tracks written by pop writers in the first place. I assume we shall have to wait and see. I think this album will have to be a masterpiece to bring Britney back to the top where she deserves to be. If anyone can do it, it's her.

I meant when she was recording the album - the original idea she had was to do pop/rock along the lines of Avril Lavigne, as she loved "Let Go"; She worked with Fred Durst on 'experimental' tracks, and went to the Matrix and Guy Chambers to achieve the sound. They poppified "Shadow" for the record label, and it was going to be the first single for ages So the original Shadow was a pop-rock track then? Hmmm, some people said it was more like Touch Of My Hand, a bit trip-hop really. You know I'd kill to get this track, I think it's one of her finest (along with When I Found You).

The sad thing about Britney is that she's never made an iconic album ala Like A Prayer/True Blue/Ray Of Light. She needs to start taking control of her career and deciding what she wants to do and which direction to go in because her advisors are shit.

^Britney doesn't strive to become a good songwriter and yet she is a pop icon. She is leagues ahead of pink and christina in her aesthetic appeal and pop back catalogue. It took Madonna until she was in her late thirties to start thinking about Ray of Light (her only truly great adult album). britney has plenty of time. She is just a perfect vessel for pop masterpieces. Pink is an awful writer and Christina is a different type of artist and thoroughly dislikable. To be honest they should never be compared. Britney isn't even 25 yet. She has so much ahead of her.

It's quite worrying what will come of this album with all these names of R&B producers being mentioned. I was hoping she would do a pure pop album a la "And Then We Kiss", which is easily one of Britney's best songs - it's a crime that it wasn't released commercially.

She seems to know how to manage the press to work to her advantage. I loved the story of her manager being outraged that David LaChapelle was taking photos of Britney in her bra when she was 16, she agreed and as soon as her managed left the room - locked the door and unbuttoned her tshirt and told Mr. LaChapelle to keep shooting. The cheeky cow, I love it.

And that list will most likely be cut down to:
Bloodshy/Avant Neptunes T-Pain Ne-Yo Guy Sigsworth Scott Storch
by <JIVE>...whom, as you all know, I fucking hate.
Do you think we could talk them into a double album? Put all the dance on one disc and all the desperate attempts at R'nB on the other?

That's a horrible idea. I'm still waiting to hear a single album from her that doesn't require the skip button at least five times. Well, setting aside for a moment the rhetorical nature of the comment, what I mean is that (as others have pointed out) her past two albums have had some of her best material shelved in favor of crap ( Britney: "Before the Good-bye," "I Run Away;" In The Zone: "And Then We Kiss," "I've Just Begun," "Do Somethin'," "Over To You," "Boys & Girls," etc.) If <JIVE> would allow her to keep all those tracks, they could have put "Outrageous," "Showdown," "Early Mornin'," and "Hook Up," "Boom Boom" (which I don't loathe), and "Me Against the Worst Lead Single and Waste of Madonna's Time" all on one disc (along with shit b-sides "The Answer" and whatever that other one was) and all the dance songs on the other. That way, we could chuck the first one and listen to the good songs on the second...you follow? I agree that half her output is shit. That's why I think grouping the shit half together and lobbying for the release of all of the good half would be popjustice. When is Britney's contract with Jive done? Not soon enough. I thought it was up with My Prerogative, but it appears she has signed for more. Steve, answers?

It was renewed after the greatest hits. I think she fulfilled the five album deal and then negotiated a bigger contracted for three more studio albums. Not counting B in the Mix, im presuming.
Xenomania haven't been confirmed anywhere as far as I know. I think it's just people like me who want her to work with them desperately. That being said, if they were asked to write for In the Zone then in all likelyhood they would be asked again. Especially after Biology and Red Dress. I can totally see Britney doing Watch Me Go too. I'm sure Xenomania see Britney as a good vehicle for worldwise financial rewards.
Someone mentioned Shelly Poole as well. Dunno where that was from. I think we can safely say that anyone who has had a hit in her absence will be submitting tracks to Jive.

Xenomania worked with Britney
They were also scheduled to work with Britney Spears, but the song they submitted, "Graffiti My Soul" was decided as not appropriate for her 2003 album In The Zone; the track was later featured on Girls Aloud's second album.
I want that Britney work with BT again, I love BT & 'I Run Away'. I think that Britney will create a single BOOM for US, she isn´t stupid.

Jive were hardly going to let Britney get away, so they worked re-signed her, I heard for 5 more albums, but I don't think/hope "B In The Mix" counts. Neither party has spoken about the re-signing, so it's mostly speculation as yet.
From that list only a few have actually been confirmed or are actual producers: Bloodshy & Avant - I can't find any source that says she's been working on new material with them, but I think everyone presumes she will Cathy Dennis - She has been confirmed to be working with SoulPower UK, but we don't know who else (maybe Guy Sigsworth) Gavin Bradley - from what I understand, he just works on basic beats, which are sent to producers and songwriters for them to build upon The Neptunes - again, not confirmed; in fact, I remember reading that they didn't want to work with her again, and vice-versa Bob Rock - he's not just a producer, he's also an engineer, so could have been (and most likely was) just recording her vocals T-Pain Ne-Yo SoulPower UK Jonathan 'J.R.' Rotem Guy Sigsworth - not confirmed as yet, but again presumed because she called on him for "Someday (I Will Understand)" Kara DioGuardi - she apparently co-wrote tracks with Britney and Scott Storch, but I don't know when exactly Scott Storch Xenomania - not confirmed, just wishful thinking thus far; "Graffiti My Soul" was not liked by Britney's people, so she never recorded it Royksöpp - again, just rumours as yet Har Mar Superstar - I heard something ages ago, but I just assumed it was a want on his behalf, as opposed to him being asked
Apparently BT and Jive fell out over the final mixes of "I Run Away" and "Before The Goodbye," which is why they were not included on all versions of "Britney," so I'd be extremely shocked if he worked with Britney again, at least whilst she's contracted to them.

Britney went downhill fast post My Prerogative and I won't be convinced she's as great as I thought until this next album. She needs to rethink becoming Kevin Federline's baby machine and get in the studio with Xenomania. An album of Britney Spears singing 13 Graffiti My Soul's is literally too good to be true.

I remember a popbitch mail out with Brian Higgins flying to L.A to work with her and he had to wait four hours for her to arrive, just so she could record some vocals.
I also remember a popbitch e mail about William Orbit avoiding Jive like the plague after they have hounded him since the Britney sessions. He refuses to meet with her apparently.
Again I suppose it's all speculation.
