God bless Holly, it seems I cannot turn my TV on after 7:30pm without seeing Holly on at least one US crime show. Let's hope this material is as outstanding as "State Of Mind" was.

I don't understand Mutters, why did she leave the 'Babes to spend time with Tahlia if she wants to get releasing again.

But the Mutt didn't leave because she wanted to spend time with her baby - she left because she didn't have any fun anymore (ie, she was pissed off at them releasing "Red Dress")!

Really? I remember they asked fans on the official forum to vote what song they wanted them to release and Red Dress won. I voted for Ace Reject.

i hope holly does come back, state of mind was before its time. its sad when excellent pop albums are ignored because the artist ''isn't credible'' or ''too beautiful'' for fans. it is annoying when something excellent like rachel or holly or javine flop, and then rubbish like crazy frog can get to number 1!

Its funny how everyone is praising Holly for State of Mind but yet how many of you actually own the album and single? Yeah obviously not that many of you. I think Holly Should work with Xenomania and Rachel maybe move to another producer because obviously it didnt work with her. As for Javine, I heard a clip of her new single and its the same boring r&b from her last album.

Its funny how everyone is praising Holly for State of Mind but yet how many of you actually own the album and single? I do! Infact I wouldn't be surprised if 80% of the total sales of the album was down to members of this board. With the other 2 sales of the record down to her fanbase.

Seeing as his site mentions nothing about La Stevens working with him, I'll consider it arbitrary until evidence states otherwise.
As for Holly Valance, I've always thought she had a slight potential in the Britney market - I personally think she's more attractive. But to take an approach with a rapper? She's becoming too much like JLo, and I loath that woman.

i own the album, i bought it the week it came out, if only at first for the four videos included. The reason i think you'll find that Hollys second album is so highly praised is because it is of such a high standard, and ahead of its time in terms of the electro eighties feel it had. Many people i know have the album, whether from it being released or just getting it later at some point, i believe it has gained cult status simply through word of mouth. Personally i would love to see Holly make a comeback, especially with her film out in the summer, DOA: Dead or Alive it might kick start a revival, who knows x

Javine stinks like old haddock.
I smell a cheap producer creating b-sides for lost causes.

Holly Valance doesn't normally sing and when she sings she doesn't do it normally.
I hope she does come back - I'm practically sharpening the blades that I'm going to hurl at her back right now. Contrary to popular opinion, State Of Mind was NOT a classic pop album and in fact quite a lazy piece of shit. Some of it was good, I'll grant you that but does anyone really think that Holly Valance could become a massive force in pop when the only thing she has to offer are nude shots in her videos? Really, she's not that interesting. She was just a chancer with no real abilities. At least Lily Allen brings something unique to the table, what the fuck did Holly Valance ever bring bar tackiness, excess nudity and that dreadful fucking Ramones t-shirt? The only time I think about her is when some clown on this forum claims she was a 'great pop star' and then I go on my bunny boiling escapades, indeed longtime members of this site will remember only well how I made it my mission to attack her at every corner.
As for Rachel, I don't believe it. Not for a moment. Hardly anybody buys her records! For fuck sake deal with it. She's a spent force and if Come And Get It won't make people buy her songs then nothing will. She's over. All these fucking threads about Rachel really piss me off.

I actually do kinda like Holly Valance... I don't really care if my fave popstars sing live or stuff like that... As long as they look good all the time, make music I can dance to... I am a happy camper.

I loved State Of Mind (the single), and Holly is very pretty, but the woman herself irritates me.

Lily Allen tells stories in her music. She's clever and funny and arch and subversive and does it all in style. Who do you know right now remotely like her? Someone said Lady Sovereign but that's not right at all. Lily also didn't get her record contract because she is a Versace model willing to get her tits out for the lads unlike Holly in her first video. Lily is also not willing to be groped in a tacky faux lesbian manner in her second video like Holly who also strips again on the video for first single of her second flop album. If she wants to strip to music, there are plenty of places suited for her in the red light districts. Though you will have to ask someone else where to find them as I cannot help you there. Everyone here likes Lily Allen not because PopJustice does (by your logic I would be liking Frank) but because she's made one of the purest, lovliest pop songs of the year.

She's not a million miles away from a British Nelly McKay, and there's not a world of difference between her and Amy Winehouse. I was just saying. I wish Javine would get over herself, although there's something admirable about the fact that she struggles on in the face of staggering indifference. Cheerio, Michael. xxx

I wish Javine would get over herself I saw her on TV about half hour ago, talking about how to become a popstar. I would like to like make a formal warning for anybody that might have been convinced by Javine's words. Warning: Do not take career advice from Javine Hylton.

I saw that, it was a trailer for American Dreamz masquerading as a TV show (I think).

They both do a sort of jazz lite music but really, that's not much. Lyrically they aren't similar at all. Unfortunately I don't know who Nelly McKay is but I'd be very interested in hearing her if she's like Lily Allen!

I hope the Holly bit of this story is true.. i think state of mind the album would have done alot better if there had been another single. The backing music to hypnotic reminds me of knight rider haha.. im sure there would have been a remix had it been released...
...could state of mind (single) have been the inspiration for the thumpy bass bit in hung up? Actualy people say hung up is unique but i think the two songs backing music compare quite well.. state of mind even has the tick tick right before the chorus but it's guitar strumming not a clock..
Anyhow holly's in the new dead or alive movie (the remake of the computer game not anything to do with pete burns)

I liked Holly's music..it was very different and inventive!I don't think she'll have much success if she comes back but I wouldn't mind if she released another album.
