I do love Simon, but I think maybe he's growing the hair to cover up the lack of witty material... he is still funny, but the material seems to be getting lazy. And I cannot stand that silly horse.
I remember Lauren Laverne doing a competition call-in once, and she was hilarious at making it so obvious what the answer was: "Oh, I haven't got A clue! I think I need A hand to work it out!"

I detest Amstell and I'm glad he's going. Miquita was much better when she was presenting with Steve Jones, so I hope she does other TV work. I hope I never see Amstell on my TV screen again. He seems to think acting like a half-wit bully is entertaining.

Miquita won't last in television for long. She's just dull as fuck.

From digitalspy...................
Alex Zane "to replace Amstell on 'Popworld'" Wednesday, March 29 2006, 18:38 BST - by Neil Wilkes
MTV's Alex Zane is expected to be named as the new co-host of Channel 4's Popworld later this week.
According to Broadcast, the 26-year-old will replace Simon Amstell when he leaves the long-running show with Miquita Oliver next month. A replacement for Oliver has yet to be confirmed.
Zane has previously worked for Channel 4 on the comedy series Balls of Steel and the reality projects Death Wish Live and Space Cadets: The Satellite Show. He will continue to front his movie review series Screen Play for MTV.
The new-look Popworld will launch on April 22.
That's ALEX ZANE not ZANE LOWE!
I'm intrigued as to who will replace Miquita though. I'm guessing it'll be a nobody BUT watching The Games last week - I did wonder if that girl who presnted Inside Track with Justin Lee Collins could be a possibility?
I think her name is Caroline Flack or something.

I really don't like Alex Zane as a presenter.
Popworld will be over when Simon and Miquita leave, yet more 'plastic' music television.

Alex Zane's co-presenter will be former model Alexa Chung, who's appeared in videos for Westlife and Holly Valance.

Just bring back Jamie and Jayne on 'The O-Zone' Seconded!! I used to love their interview technique, which was simply to flirt with the popstar to the point where they either got (a) an exclusive quote or (b) a shag. Even better, let's bring back No Limits. What could be a better pop format than Jenny Powell and a bloke touring the university towns of the UK to bring you the latest video by T'Pau? Mmm, I'd sort of agree if it were not for the fact that Jonathon King was behind said show and I wouldn't wish him to recieve funds from it, as he does with 'Record of the year'. That said I used to love that 'person slightly less brilliant than me' bloke with the nasty blonde highlights who co-presented with Jenny.

Alex and Alexa - I bet channel 4 were pissing themselves when they decided to do that.
There's an interview with Simon and Miquita in Heat this week - I only flicked through it in the shop though so didn't get to read it properly. Although I saw that it was Simon who was first to decide he was leaving and that he said he wanted to leave just before christmas

The model who's been in videos with Westlife and Holly Vallance will be too scared to risk offending any future co-workers. Fools.

I'm assuming you've not seen any of her presenting work before? Why not wait until she's done the first show and then give us an indepth evaluation. I, for one, will be on the edge of my seat awaiting it.

I see in Heat this week Girls Aloud have written a bitchy reply to Simon and Miquita following their interview last week.

The model who's been in videos with Westlife and Holly Vallance will be too scared to risk offending any future co-workers. Fools. That rather assumes that she plans to continue doing modelling work in pop videos, rather than move into tv presenting. If she wants to be a music tv presenter, it might be of benefit that she has some experience of working within the music industry already! She might have some sordid gossip on Westlife and/or Holly. On top of that, she's far less likely to be star struck than someone who is new to it all. Anyway, being a good, entertaining interviewer is not 100% reliant on being offensive to your guests. Jayne Middlemass used to be a model, and she did alright! Of course, Alexa could still be crap, and if she got the job because they'd already booked Alex and he wanted to shag her or thought it would be funny to have an Alexa - we're doomed.

It's the last one this morning. You'll kick yourself if you miss it! I've heard rumours about how it will end. Should be good and sad.

Ironic how there was hardly any proper pop acts on the last show. Just thinking the exact same thing. Everyone of those acts had no personality, and exactly the same boring humour. Ew.

I thought the ending was so sad - funny as ever, but really sad. I'm genuinely going to miss Simon and Miquita. It just doesn't seem right that someone else will be presenting "Popworld" - I associate the show with those two. I wonder if either will regret leaving. I'll watch it next week, but I'm pretty sure it'll never be the same. I was hoping they'd repeat but not so.

I love wikipedia. Simon Amstell and Miquita Oliver are, however leaving the show in April when the programme gets a brand new look and a new presenting team. Miquita Oliver has said that she will continue presenting T4's weekend show, while Simon Amstell is reported to want to continue his TV career elsewhere. They will be replaced by Alex Zane and Alexa Chung, who will take over from the April 22, 2006 edition and be absolutely rubbish, and will most likely lose the cult following the origional show has built up because neither of them are funny. That ending was beautiful.

I need to own that song now. I actually shed a tear! How ridiculous is that? The end of an era...some shows are just made by the people on them. I hope this is gonna be a live and kicking type thing with the new presenters being zoe ball and jamie theakston replacing sarah green and philip schofield... Oh hell that makes me sound old now Anyway, I'm gonna miss them. Good to go out on top though (except in the terms of music - couldn't they have got McFly on for fuck's sake? Hello, we're the Zutons, our interviews are as good as our album zzzzzzz), Simon wrapped around that dancer before the break made me spit special k over my carpet...
