Yes, the rumours are true! In the tradition of "classics" such as Abbamania and Discomania, it's a new ITV spectacular ( or something). It has the the potential to be horrendous, but at least it wont be boring!
Performers are: Rachel Stevens (Open Your Heart), McFly (Don't Tell Me), Natasha Bedingfield (Ray Of Light), Girls Aloud (Like A Virgin), Dannii Minogue (Vogue), Geri Halliwell (True Blue), Estelle (Secret), Cheeky Girls (Holiday), Liberty X (Music), Il Divo (Take A Bow), Lucie Silvas (Don't Cry For Me Argentina) and Melanie C (Like A Prayer)
Pure car crash tv with the Cheeky Girls and Geri performing / murdering Madge tracks. Looking forward to seeing what Natasha, Estelle and Mel C do though.
Are the royalties for this going to fund some Kaballah jaunt, i wonder?
PS) Unless anyone knows any different, no date for this as of yet.

The performers were supposedly,
Javine - Vogue Katherine Jenkins - Frozen Nikki Sanderson (Candice from Corrie in case you didn't know) - Material Girl Liberty X - Like A Prayer Sammy Winward (Emmerdale) - Papa Don't Preach G4 - Crazy For You Debra Stephenson - Music All back on stage for Holiday
Apparently Javine and her dancers were very good and the dance routine was the highlight of the evening, the choreography was supposed to be excellent. Katherine Jenkins was very good too.
The others ranged from mediocre to downright shit.

Based on the originally-rumoured line-up, this was going to be the first Mania programme I ever bothered to watch.
Now...all of a sudden I'm busy that night.

Based on the originally-rumoured line-up, this was going to be the first Mania programme I ever bothered to watch. As if the original line up was any better! Estelle doing Secret is quite possibly the worst idea ever conceived.... that is until someone came up with the notion of Natasha Bedingfield doing Ray Of Light and all of a sudden the prospect of Sammy Winwood and Nikki Sanderson sound heavenly (at least they'd mime and if there's ever an argument for the 'Keep Music Mimed' law Natasha Bedingfield is IT.) And if I had to choose between a rather unexciting Liberty X performance of Like A Prayer or Melanie C screeching through it (how many times has she performed it now? You'd think someone would have told her she's crap) I'd go for the former. Il Divo are a boring G4. And Katherine Jenkins would've wiped the floor with Lucie Silvas in the Don't Cry For Me Argentina stakes and the idea of her going for Frozen instead is quite interesting. Whether it works or not though remains to be seen. I would've quite liked to see Dannii do Vogue but I'd also quite like to see Javine do it too and if reports are right she does it quite well. Girls Aloud are always crap at these 'mania things and the song choice is always rubbish, Like A Virgin is no exception, it just wouldn't of suited them at all and once again I would have felt embarrassed for the group I love. So until they're asked to do Love Is A Battlefield at Pat Benatar'mania they should steer well clear. Rachel Stevens on the otherhand fares quite well at these things but Open Your Heart? I feel nothing but indifference. Infact when looking at both those lists the only ones which peak the slightest bit of interest in me are Javine/Dannii doing Vogue and Katherine Jenkins doing Frozen, everything else either leaves me feeling cold or imagining what hell sounds like and as such if I had to choose the real thing slightly edges the made up version of the show. Infact I now might actually watch it. Well at least up to the first adverts, if it runs in the order it was recorded.

Based on the originally-rumoured line-up, this was going to be the first Mania programme I ever bothered to watch. Now...all of a sudden I'm busy that night. Based on the original rumoured line-up Madonna wasn't going to try to stop this show from being aired for being an utter embarassment to herself and her career. Now...all of a sudden she's looking for the number of her lawyer. As much as I loathe Girls Aloud the second line-up has made me actually wish they were on this. And G4 and Liberty X still manage to appear on the crap line-up as well.

Id really have liked it if Billie Piper did Express Yourself' and the cheeky girls put the 'cheek' in cheeky and performed 'erotica'.
Surely this is prime time TV - couldnt they have got better people involved than duck faced Candice from Corrie? What is going on?
Im sure Gina G would have been up for it.

G4 doing Crazy For You. I really did not see that coming. 'Crazy For You' is one of my favourite songs of all time - it's probably not right at the top of the list, but it's easily in my Top 10. If I ever find out whose idea it was for G4 to cover this (abysmally, from what I've seen), I will find a way for them to die a slow and agonising death. As if their hatchet job on '...Baby One More Time' during X Factor wasn't enough of an insult.

itv are embarrassing themselves yet again by getting corrie and emmerdale people on these mania shows. i mean, did anyone see those corrie guys on queen mania? talk about crap! stick to the soaps!
are mcfly still on madonna mania? i'd hate the idea of them doing it, but me and hundreds of other mcfly fans are still very much in doubt about this...

It's just a total waste of what could potentially be a very good entertaining t.v show.
Slightly embarassing for the guests and most of all for Madge herself.

This was so bad it was offensive. I felt especially violated by the constant cliched comments like 'She's always reinventing herself' or 'She's controversial'. And what's with Ian Wright presenting? How many Madonna records does he own? The only person who actually seemed to be a genuine fan was Debra off of Corrie.
Kevin liberty X is surprisingly tingle inducing.
That is all.

On a side note, why dont they just rename ITV1 to NSTV1, because Nikki Sanderson seems to be everywhere these days...if she's not on Corrie five nights a week or presenting CDuk, she's now invading our Saturday nights too.

I was dissapointed big time, had been looking forward to this for ages.
I thought Javine & Nikki Sanderson were the best. Even if Nikki's mic did end up upside her head somewhere LOL.
