Tiffany's doing Sound Of The Underground, according to Vernon Kay on his Radio 1 show.

Okay Heat 1 is on....
Gloria is up first, she's looking good and sounding ok, but she is singing in a different key and it's not as anthemic. I don't think she'll win, but it's early days yet.
She last released an album in 2003 which was rather good.
Do none of these acts have deals anymore?

Is no-one else watching this? Maybe I am becoming too used to watching TV and being online at the same time!
Anyway Howard Jones... well I don't think this song is as well known as some of the others performing tonight. He looks different to as I expected, but he's giving a good performance. I'd probably choose Gloria over him so far though...

Next up - The Honeyz.
Well they are looking good, but Celena's voice is a bit off. Heavenli is looking a bit old, Naima is still looking fantastic though. All in all an ok performance, a bit lacklusture. It will be interesting to see how well their cover version sounds like.
I'm a bit disappointed with everything so far though...

The show isn't as camp as i thought it was going to be.

Limahl - I've met him in Ibiza, he's a nice guy. I've never really liked Too Shy as a song though. His performance was good, but I just dunno.

Up last, Tiffany. Well the audience are really going for this one. She is looking fantastic (I think she's about 34) and she sounds good too.
Overall though all the performances have been a bit lacklusture, the sound hasn't been great.
I think my fave so far is Tiffany though, it'd be great to see her back in the charts.

My boyfriend just told me that Limahl once had a longterm relationship with Paul Gambaccini. Ew.
Anyway, yes I was watching it, but I wanted to concentrate on the performances! Liking Gloria, although wasn't she meant to be doing Kylie? This is actually a great arrangement of Beautiful... but why is she singing I instead of you?

I agree actually. definitely an improvement vocally and she was looking all Desperate Housewives, in a good way. The Honeys were disappointing with Finally Found, but How You Remind Me just now was pretty good, in a black Bananarama kind of way...

Gloria's version of Beautiful was great, nice to hear her doing it in her own way.
Howard was quite good, but not a vote winner.
Am unsure of the Honeyz. Good on them for doing something totally different, but their voices weren't great. But they did look fab. Mind you they've not been out of the public eye as long as the others.
Limahl - well I don't think his sexuality is a secret. He gave an ok performance, but it sounded a bit karaoke to me.
So far, I'm swaying between Gloria and Tiffany, but it depends how Tiffany fares with her cover...

She was pretty good! Forgot some of the words but hey. If they remixed the GA version like that it WOULD be a US hit. You know, more country. I reckon it's between Tiff and and Gloria.

So Tiffany is the audience's fave. Her version of Love Machine was good, I think she had trouble with the lyrics though. They are a bit weird though.
It's between Tiff and Gloria though. I wonder if they will have Eurovision style voting or just announce the winner. The results show is only 15 min so I guess the latter...

Im really pissed off i missed the first 3 performances. Did Howard Jones have all his synthesisers around him and a headset mic?
Anyone know if this is repeated in the week? Or any screen grabs?
I expected HoJo to be remaking a song in a synthy style as I thought his Dido performance was weak.

He did indeed, and, well, he was better than Limahl.
So Tiffany's through. And she deserves it. Her reprise of Love Machine is killer! However I'm rather more drunk now than earlier...

Missed the main show - but Tiffany's version of Love Machine on the results show was ace on a stick.
What a clever choice.

I thought Gloria Gaynor pissed over everyone else from a great height. Her cover was of Beautiful was great, and I thought she was the strongest singer out of all the acts.
Tiffany was ok, but I'm she mumbled half of Love Machine, and some of the bits I did make out, she got the words wrong.
Howard Jones and Limahl were ok, thought Howard was much better on White Flag than on What is Love. The Honeyz were awful, chickening out of high notes, and sounding like the were in the early stages of the X Factor. The lead singer looked and sounded nervous. And I still can't believe the gorgeous Matthew Marsden went out with that freak of nature from the band.

I'm so glad Tiffany got it- I actually whooped and cheered. She was bloody fantastic- looked and sounded amazing. I liked her doing Love Machine, but she did mumble a bit of it and get some words wrong. But "I think we're alone now" was euphoric. The Honeyz were as shit as ever- I remember Celena screwed up their first TOTP performance with off notes. I think its hysterical she didn't even attempt the high notes. Gloria Gaynor turning "Beautiful" into a dance track was blind genius. All in all, bloody brilliant television. Roll on next week!

Despite thinking the show looked dull, i watched it as i'm back at university, so will watch pretty much anything to avoid boredom. I actually enjoyed it though. I liked Tiffany's first song, but wasn't too keen on her version of 'Love Machine'. I think she looked fantastic though. Honeyz still looked good, but they'd aged a fair bit!! I was glad that Tiffany got through. Anyone have any idea who's on next week?

I thought Gloria Gaynor pissed over everyone else from a great height. Her cover was of Beautiful was great, and I thought she was the strongest singer out of all the acts. You're definitely right with that. Her cover of Beautiful has to be one of the campest things I've seen for a long time. Stil ace though. She didn't sound too bothered when she performed I Will Survive though. They were pretty poor. It was a very lacklustre performance, some of the notes were appallingly fluffed. They pulled it back a little with the Nickleback cover though. Still, I was pretty disappointed as I'm a big Honeyz fan. Considering they had mediocre success, at best - they were pretty brave to go up against some megastars of their time at all.

I Can't believe I missed Tiffany singing Love Machine but she was amazing last night singing her trademark hit. I saw Tiffany doing a PA a few years ago & there were people crowd surfing to 'I Think We're Alone Now' I'd never seen anything like it!
She deserved to win last night & get my vote for the grand final regardless of who else get through.
Anywhere where I can find a cheeky download listen to Tiffany's version of Love Machine?

If Tiffany did win BMBOMT then what are the odds of 'I think We're alonenow'/'Love Machine' going to number 1?
If Tony Christie can stay at number one for two weeks then anything's possible I suppose.
