Who were the ones for next week? I spotted Nick Heyward (Haircut 100 - my mum likes them), Carol Decker (yay!), Baccara (more yay!). The others appeared to be a black boyband who mentioned California sea and a black woman.

On next week... Baccara Mica Paris Nick Heyward Carol Decker The Pasadenas Very worried now - the Pasadenas, whoever they are, were not on the original line-up which means they must be replacing someone and seeing as they are a boyband and Lee 911 has broken his leg, it could well be them. They were the only band I was actually a fan of when they were around out of everyone on the list so I was really looking forward to seeing them. I hope they're still going to be on the show. Jessica

Am at a complete loss as to why Shakin Stevens won. if the general public were struck down with some temporary virus rendering them incapable of rational thought then I'll forgive them. Otherwise everyone voting for shakey should be lined up and shot. Ok, maybe slightly harsh, but haddaway shoulda gone through for sure! ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png)

Simple in it.
it seems the UK public has no thought what goes into music any more - if you can Kareeokee - then your thro - it dont mean nothing if you can write and performm your own songs - Bollocks - did any one see Killer Queens - i had a night of everyone killing queen songs !!!

Four words. Housewives votes. Steve Brookstein. Indeed! I was at the show and to be honest although his performance of This Ole House wasn't the best I've ever seen his cover of Trouble was absolutely fantastic. Saying that Dr and the Medics were very good as was Haddaway (to my surprise!) You say that it was the housewives choice but the people who were screaming for him in the audience (and I do mean screaming!) were of a very mixed age group.... I think he is going to win the whole competition but then I have always thought he would win the whole competition!

pop justice was done the best selling artist and performer of the 80s won and will win the overall competition no problem. I`ve seen thousands of bands recent and old,but shaky is still the best live act I`ve ever seen, no one can forget that thats why he will walk it!!

Haddaway was the best by miles. I wasn't expecting it to be honest, but his version of Toxic was cracking in a genuinely good kind-of way. Not in a nostalgic, house-wives' favourite kind of way (Shakey) or Christmas special novelty act kind of way (Dr and the Medics). Belinda was disappointing and as much as I love her, she didn't deserve to win. Jaki Graham was good, but boring.
I do think that getting your old fan-base interested in advance is the way forward. Shakey does have an old fan-base, whereas Doctor and the Medics had one big hit, and Belinda had a lot of people who liked her and her music, but it's not the same thing.
Chesney had the right idea. Do a reality tv show in advance of this one to get the fans interested again.

Haddaways version of toxic was laughable thats why he lost and hes another one hit wonder like the medics.Belinda carlisle did a cover of a coldplay song that was hard to identify and too downbeat. People are after lively party type music to generate a great atmosphere and experience, shaky does that no problem as proven on the show. Eveyone is quick to knock him but the facts show he was the best selling artist of the 80s and theres a reason for that, hes the best!!

Tiffany was good, but shaky appears to have a far stronger following, so he will win.

The reason everyone knocks him was that he performed like someones drunken bum of an uncle at a family wedding getting up to sing on the karaoke before trying to snog his brothers wife and passing out in the corner!!!
You know, just because he was entertaining once doesn't mean he is anymore.....

The only reason Shakey doing HMBOMT is to promote a greatest hits album (Which is out tomorrow folks) when he was on GMTV the other day he didn't seemed fussed about winning at all.

Thats true he seemed to win without trying too hard thats how good he is,but in the final he may even shock you if he wants to win.I believe hes so popular that he will win,his performance of the pink song was better than the original!!

yes he has more fans and the reason is that hes a better all round entertainer than any of the others and a legend. Lets see how well the album does that`ll tell you how good he is. Its already sold top 10 on preorders,a possible number one album on its way next week!! Unlike the rest of the one hit wonders and hasbeens on the show

He's got through to the finals. You can give it a rest now.

This show gotta be seen to be believed y'all! I don't know how that Shakin' Stevens guy won. He was whack! Slurrin' like some bad old karaoke singer.
Miss Jaki - what the freakin' hell was that woman doin on that stage?
Miss Belinda - she looked freakin' stoned!
Dr and the Medics - that was embarrassin' y'all.
That gotta be one of the worst singin' shows in terms of talent I seen. If any of those performances were on Pop Idol, Mr Simon would be dissin' them to next Sunday.

I've been thinking that as well. I'm hoping for better things next week: From the Sunday Express magazine: Baccara sing Yes Sir I Can Boogie and cover Enrique Iglesias; Mica Paris belts out My One Temptation, before paying homage to Robbie Williams; Nick Heywood treats us to Fantastic Day, then performs a tribute to Busted; Carol Decker lets us have it with China In Your Hand, before covering Jamelia; and The Pasadenas sing tribute, with homage paid to Pop idol winner Will Young.
