Who was it sang Think Twice on Pop Idol? I just saw the recap. Whoever it was, Carolynne could sing them into a handbag, they were rubbish.
And in the absence of a Fame Academy live comment thread this evening, may I ask permission to weep at what Carrie and David said about Peter? When will they realise that they are wrong?

In Pop Idol news: I really liked a girl. I cant remember her name. She was wearing a pink skirt and a polka dot top. I think she could be a really good SEB/Cerys Matthews mix. Much better than all the other 'look at me, I got my tits out and I can sing really high' girls. I like her.

I really wanted to call the Live Thread "Paris is Burning" too but felt too inhibited by all this shifting around of the furniture that's going on. I know. The Red-Head and the Dread-Head need to wise up. Or be killed. Preferably crushed by Peter's falling body.

And Carolynne and Alex are now both vying for my telephonic loyalty.
Alex hangs on due to masterful 80s stripey top.
And marvellous Eurythmics cover.

Alex's stripy top was, um, stripy - wasn't it?
Please tell me James has to go this week though - he was rubbish beyond all rubbishosity. (As was Peter, but I'm willing to sacrifice that cause for the greater good if James goes)

I didn't really see much of it. I thought the swedish girl was very weird. I liked wesu, it obviously meant a lot to him in that he stayed while his wife was about to have a baby. Some might say that was selfish but i say that was determination. Or maybe she was weeks off the due date. Who knows?

Maybe if he stopped throwing himself around he would have done it better. I know that is all part or Peter Rock TM, but I felt that by doing that he sacrificed singing (well, 'singing') the song as well as he could. I didnt see James because of Pop Idol viewing. What did he sing?

My Dad said that about Carolynne and the 'other girl'. I think he has a crush on her even if does insist on calling her Caroline. The gulf of talent between Pop Idol and FA is substantial. I thought that coloured girl with the bad teeh who was 'cabaret' was somewhat diabolical. Fame Academy is of a higher grade despite Peter and his 'unique talent'. Pah.

I voted for Susanne ... there was something I liked about her as soon as she started singing. i didn't even think she was the best, but there was just something that made me feel compelled to ...
What time are the results on?

Am I alone in not being at all impressed by Adam tonight? His voice conjures up images of Metro FM circa 1984: "That was the hot new jam from Lionel Richie, now before we rock the house with some Leo Sayer, here's something a little new from Adam Whatshisface..."
Kirsty rocked, but while Susanne has a decent voice, she sang absolutely atrociously. I don't know what the judges were thinking praising her.
Oh, and every time I see Maxwell, I get the urge to shout "Oi, aren't you James from Busted? You've been down the rowing club, I see..."

I didnt see James because of Pop Idol viewing. What did he sing? James sang "Woman" by John Lennon - as Richard Park eruditely put it, "the song he wrote for Yono". He sang it in the wrong key, as far as I could tell. Richard Park called it "truly appalling". Patrick Keilty disagreed. They had a bitch fight. It was fun. It really, truly distresses me that Carrie Grant claims Peter "has proved he can sing". Correction: last week he proved he can just about hold a tune if the song is right. There's still a long way to go. As a voice coach, she should know better than to say things like that. Or perhaps I'm wrong, and an ability to pull silly faces is all you need to win Fame Academy. In which case, sign me up for Fame Academy 3...

I'm getting confused. Are people talking about both Pop Idol and Fame Academy? I think so, I was contrasting Carolynne's 'Think Twice' with a girl on Pop Idol who did a less earth-moving version. Furthermore, I heard Fame Academy was getting axed after this season so Carrie Grant may be off to doing the seaside circuits again.

Carrie being married to Spider Head just isn't right.

I'm confused as to how well it's doing. In my weekly staff meetings at work we get given the weekend ratings, and I've been told on many occasions that Fame Academy is doing really well, holding its own against Pop Idol, and last week in particular gaining viewers even after Pop Idol started.
But then I read exactly the opposite on here shortly afterwards. I mean, I didn't expect there to be a Fame Academy 3, and I thought FA2 would just be going through the motions, but I thought it had been a bit of a low-key success this time. Ah, who knows? I don't.

Carrie being married to Spider Head just isn't right. Did anyone know that la Spider Head is 46! I think he looks (or tries to be) quite young for his age. There must be quite an age gap between him and Carrie??

Not that big I wouldn't have thought ... she must be somewhere between 35 - 38 ish I reckon.
Black people often look young because they have lovely smooth skin.

I heard that David was 48 and Carrie was 38.
There's been some age-swapping going on there, if you ask me.

They also have two kids and I think one is about nine, they've been married 15 years so the age gap can't be that great I guess. Apparently Carrie has some strange disease and was rather ill shortly Fame Academy 1. Needless to say she has now perked up no end.

the new series of pop idol is truly dire.
i've said it before, but the contestants really do look as if they've been imported from the asda across the road.
i don't think i'll bother with the final ten.
in other news: alex was good tonight. wasn't alex good tonight? alex had a really nice teeshirt on. i really like alex.
especially when she smashed carolynne's head in when they were singing love shack!
cheerio!

Fair enough, but I think Wesu did a much better job with the Stevie Wonder coverage. I voted for Wesu and Kirsty, because he's brilliant and she's my future ex-wife, whom I will leave unceremoniously for Stacie Orrico.
