danniis already started work on her next, full album to follow after the greatest hits, so its not over whatsoever, just a new chapter in her career! i imagine some people said kylie's career was over when she left pwl and released a greatest hits...

What we have to remember is that Dannii has not released a Greatest Hits album in the UK before. She has been releasing music since 1991. It's about time she had one and I hardly think you can compare Dannii's 21 track Greatest Hits to a new album with a bonus disc of remixes!

New material could introduce her back into music. I doubt any song could introduce Dannii anywhere but the Dumper. I'm not a Dannii basher and have much time for the Minogue underdog but nobody cares. She's considered the 'slutty Minogue' without the class or finesse of her wonderful sister.

i have to admit at first i was a bit gutted to think she was releasing a greatest hits, and not a new album, but now i am quite excited about it, it will be good having a proper uk hits album and all her vids, i have the australian one, and have been waitin for a proper uk one. i very much doubt aatw will drop dannii even if this hits album flops, because they rarely drop anyone, they just mess them about loads with releases and stuff. kelly llorenna's hits album wasn't the best seller, but she still has a deal (and a new single which is cracking but if it ever gets released i will die of shock), but the way aatw go with albums, we can expect dannii's new album in about 10 years!

As long as i get to hear 'Love Fight' im pleased, to be honest. Its been so long since weve had any decent new music i just want my faith resored. Be great to have all the videos though, 'All I Wanna Do' a personal favourite. In the future they will show that video in media classes to best show90's fashion/style

Just noticed they've left off Love's On Every Corner and This Is The Way, two forgotten pop gems.
Boo!
Now that I'm used to the idea of this I'm really looking forward to it. Let's face it, most her albums are all filler and no killer, so it'll be nice to have all the good stuff together. I agree that it would be perfect music to straighten your hair to and drink a couple of sweet sherries before a night out.

why haven't I heard of any of these 'greatest hits'? I actually can't recall a single one, oh dear! I assure you I haven't been shut away in a small hole watching Kerrang! for the last decade or so, how did they all manage to pass me by? did she get any no.1s? or is this another popjustice 'thing' whereby a visitor here this time last year may have got the impression that tyler james really was headed for 'big things'?

She hasn't had any number one's but "I Begin To Wonder" hit #2, "Who Do You Love Now?" #3 and "All I Wanna Do" #4...

The only Dannii tunes i can remember are 'I Begin To Wonder' and a song which sampled 'Into The Groove' by Madonna.

Eurogroove featuring Dannii on the song Rescue Me reached #1 in Japan, and I've heard whispers the follow-up Boogie Woogie did the same.
I hope they get the sequencing right, or else in chronological order would do just nicely.

I love Boogie Woogie - Dannii does Eurodance! Wish we could've had an album of this.

Didn't Dannii get caught in some lesbian movie this year or something? I seem to remember some tawdry headline.

Yeah, its a shame nobody cared.
She planned it all wrong. She should have done it a few weeks before her 'Greatest Hits' came out or something.

What happened there? She just kissed a pal playfully or was it serious?

#5. I'm looking forward to orgasming over Put The Needle On It again. If they'd any sense it would be replaced with the Jason Nevins mix of it...

Any other Dannii recommendations? to put it simply, get the whole "neon nights" album, you wont be dissapointed. as a whole, its as good as, if not better than any kylie album (and as a massive kylie fan thats a bold statement for me!). its almost the album kylie wishes she could have made... and of course, buy the forthcoming greatest hits!

Has she not officially had a best of out in the UK then? I own her 'Singles' collection (which contains the singles from teh first three albums) and I always see it in music stores and is never in the imported section so I assumed she had officially released it over here.

I must say it is a great relief AATW are going to the unheard of extremes of employing a TV advertising campaign – I bet London wish they had thought of that... They had also better be serious about the promise of a tour, as this is a crucial chance for Dannii to show that she really does mean business.
Certainly, it wasn’t really until the Girl album that her songs became properly assured and accomplished to the debatably more credible and recognisable standard of the Neon Nights releases. Artistically, she was arguably at the top of her game. All I Wanna Do remains my favourite song by her, and here is another chance to appreciate its glistening and shimmering brilliance. It possesses a masochistic glamour that is at once hypnotic and entrancing. However, it was in fact the more sombre and introverted Everything I’ve Wanted that hooked me in properly to her music. The song is really stripped down, exposing the strength of her intricate vocals in an intimate setting. The synth-generated ripple that awakens the Xeonomania remix is much more to my taste, yet the melody as it stands is 1 of her best. The regal Disremembramce, complete with the use of lush strings, is just so colossal, majestic, lavish and layered. It is precisely executed and sharp as a toothpick. The grace and sensitivity of her singing makes the track a sensation. If Ladytron were a bunch of screamers, they’d probably sound something like this. The thing that made these songs so special and appealing to me is how they appeared so tailored to Dannii’s personality, image and abilities.
Neon Nights represented Dannii as a life-bruised-and-rouged club survivor, still very much the star and stronger in many ways. The feverishly chic Who Do You Love Now really couldn’t be anymore clubby if it tried. Her vocals never sounded more focused and connected – emphatic and deeper than what she had given us before. Everything came together with this record; such a gorgeous effect of experience finally catching up with her talents and looks. If her sensual collaboration with Riva was an irresistible dance song, her next big triumph was the dream cross-over hit she badly needed, after the lukewarm reception the kinky and slinky Put The Needle On It received, to (if she was to finally be taken seriously) sell an album. More of a strut than an actual song, I Begin To Wonder’s infectious and swaggering style resulted in the biggest success of a distinguished, decade-long career at the fringes of pop. It is fair to say the track’s producer J.C.A gave her the explosive edge where Xeonomania had before. Their unreleased Come And Get It sweats and drips with sleaze, and oozes electro-filth.
The short-term success of 2 attention-grabbing bootlegs from the albums’ single packages (clashing her in turns with Dead or Alive and Madonna respectively) perhaps initially gave AATW the wrong idea. Dannii’s last 2 singles have been bootlegs in their original orientations, giving the inadvertent impression they don’t really know what to do with her. And not surprisingly, out of this stalling trepidation, something of a crisis has arisen: the wind is now out of her sails, and the momentum may no longer be there to launch a new record.
These days Dannii very much has a masquerading mystique that still kindles immense excitement for me. She represents an unflinching conviction of glamour, kitsch bitch kool and defiance. Her last 2 singles may not be comparable to her very best, yet she continually brings a touch of distinction to her work. I appreciate the urgency Dannii has to offer: she is far too smart to pretend to be coy; she has been passé, then camp, then fashionable and respectable; the magic is undeniably there.

wow that was an essay....
i believe that the only reason dannii or dannii's 'people' have done a greatest hits is because the new album probably wasnt strong enough or dare i say it.... GOOD enough to get a release but to keep the dannii spark going, or a dannii diva demand, she wanted to release something. so a greateest hits would be appropriate.
