Lisa Scott-Lee entered at a rather disappointing #93 in the Australian charts yesterday with Electric. But I guess thats what you get for doing NO promotion!

I almost feel sorry for her... but it's also kinda funny.

Silly cunt.
I love the way she writes 'I'm ready to unleash my album to the world soon' on her MySpace like as if it's so earth shatteringly good.

Haha, Lisa!
Shove that up your over-sized nostrils and smell it (the stench of failure)!

Do you think she'll update this on her own Wikipedia page?

Ladies! Pur-lease.
Anyway, I doubt Lisa would be able to work out how to make her own Wikipedia page.

Lisa tried, tried again and failed. If she attempts to release another single, or, dare I say it, an album, she's going to make an even bigger scene of herself.
I mean, she can't seriously think she's worthy of a #1.

Honestly, with Lisa's utter desperation, I would've expected her to make more of an effort at breaking Australia. Maybe putting up a pirate TV station and airing episodes of Totally Scott-Lee on it would have helped.

I mean, she can't seriously think she's worthy of a #1. Just look at most of the rubbish that passes for #1. She's more than qualified to have a solo hit. She's taken a new view of her own career anyway now. She's said personally she's happy with #13 for Electric, and that she realises that's about as good as she's going to get. She's not aiming for #1 and I don't think she ever was. Plus, she's said she's releasing her album to her fans over her website since they've been so loyal to her, they deserve an album. I totally agree with that sentiment. She's already given one of her tracks up for free on the site as a Christmas gift, and I'm fairly confident that the release of her album signifies Lisa winding down her pop career anyway.

I dont think its Lisa, I just think she is given bad music. Garuntee you if she were to record one of rachel's tracks or even Girls aloud she would score higher.

Yeah but who wants to hear her singing Rachel or Girls Alouds songs? Lisa Scott-Lee is the definition of 'Shit' isnt she, really?
She is a Primark popstar... cheap and nasty. (with over-sized nostrils).

Considering she had stuff all promotion in Australia, 93 isn't that bad. I think I only saw the video on TV once, I didn't hear the song on the radio either

It's quite sad that her hometown is 20 mins away from where I live. I quite liked Electric but why doesn't she just give up now?!

is it not possible that the song could climb the charts in australia at all? each countries music charts work differently...

Many songs climb the charts in Australia, it's just very rare if they don't get proper exposure and promotion. A #93 position is not going to encourage radio and tv stations to air it, is it?
To be honest, I wouldn't have minded LSL continuing on her "career" if she had just said that she's just doing it because she actually loves to make music - however, it's obvious that she's more interested in being loved by the public than she is actually making music.

A #93 position is not going to encourage radio and tv stations to air it, is it? well i cant say how it works with the oz charts. i just know in the usa, songs can enter outside the top 100, then climb and climb and even end up number 1 like that. then you have the uk charts where until recently, a song enters the chart at its highest position normally. but now this has all changed due to downloads being entered for the charts before the cd is out, but anyway thats another issue. i hope lisa's album comes out in australia, i am waiting to order it!

The American chart is weird though, and based mostly on Airplay, and is biased towards hip-hop and r'n'b. Australia has a more normal chart.

The American chart is weird though, and based mostly on Airplay, and is biased towards hip-hop and r'n'b. Australia has a more normal chart. That's been changing a bit, though. While in the UK downloads have caused the chart to slow down, digital downloads have sped up the U.S. singles charts specifically. Singles still climb, though, and can start charting as soon as they get downloads or are getting airplay (unlike in the UK where the downloads only qualify as soon as one week before the physical single is out). With certain songs, it seems like the thing is that they debut in a particularly high position when they're put up for downloads, fall down the chart, and then rebound when they get more airplay (and more downloads as a result). A lot of record labels are deciding to withhold hit singles from download until the week the album is released or even later, to maximize their chances of going to #1. I believe Rihanna's "SOS" is somewhere in the 30s right now because it has no download points and is charting solely on airplay, but it's going to rocket up to #1 this coming week because her album (and therefore the song) was released.

I think they need to have that regulation in place. Because, if they didn't, surely when you bought an album off iTunes, all the tracks would also register as 12 invidual singles.

I dont think its Lisa, I just think she is given bad music. Garuntee you if she were to record one of rachel's tracks or even Girls aloud she would score higher. Can't really blame it on being "given" any poor music. Besides maybe three tracks we've heard from her, she writes all her stuff, so it's her own fault really. I just feel bad because "Lately" did alright, and "Too Far Gone" wasn't THAT big of a bomb, yet she was still dropped. Until that point, it seemed like the press only had nice things to say about her, and besides her whining about Steps splitting up, she came across as a fairly likeable person. Then came the shit Intenso song, which she basically just dug herself into a deeper whole with because it sucked so bad, and then the "Electric"/TSL debacle and look at her now......... I feel like if she released a GOOD song, (and in my opinion, ANYTHING from that album sampler was miles better than her last two singles), and she did as much promotion as possible and stopped talking about Steps and her marriage, then maybe she'd get somewhere. Because as much as people bitch about her, I believe if she had an undeniably good song, she might do well. "Lately" is a solid pop song, and it faired alright. "Electric" might have faired a bit better too if it had been promoted for more than one week and hadn't been backed by that television show. I guess we'll never know because at this point who wants to take a gamble on her, but I really do believe if she had just surrounded herself with more business savvy people (ie. anyone who isn't Nathan Moore. Her web_____ could have handled better than he does), she could have done a lot better.

She really couldn't have expected a bigger debut knowing she'd not gotten on a plane to do a bit of promotion. Radio simply did not touch it, bar a few community stations and the one I work at.
