It's based on single, album and download sales, GA haven't quite done enough this year. Chemistry should get them in for next year though.

Well if they are allowing Gwen Stefani though on a record 1st released in 2004, why isn't Amarillo on the list? Just to be pedantic, but isn't it the best selling single so far this year?

Point taken. But that hasn't always been the case has it? I'm sure Gareth's 'Spirit in the Sky' was in the reckoning in 2003.

Who I think should get through.
Group A: Audio Bullys ft Nancy Sinatra "Shot you down" Amerie "One thing"
Group B: Charlotte Church "Crazy Chick" Will Smith "Switch" It would normally be Gwen but she wasn't released this year so.
Group C: PussyCat Dolls- "Don't Cha" Robbie Williams- "Tripping" Sugababes would be nice too.
Group D: Snoop Dogg ft Charlie and Justin- "Signs" Rihanna- "Pon de replay" I wouldn't mind none of those going through, yet could have picked 4 from the previous category. It's always so irritating.
Group E: Kelly Clarkson- "Since u been gone" Stereophonics- "Dakota"
I think out of those, Kelly Clarkson, McFly, PussyCat Dolls, and Charlotte Church or the Sugababes are dead certs.

Lemar was also released in 2004 wasn't he? I think Group C is that most difficult - think we'll see an upset there. Not too bothered about Record of the Year though as it's not a true reflection. Adults can't be bothered to vote usually so it ends up being a little girls' vote. Remember when Busted won after possibly one of the worst live TV performances ever?

Jessica and I have been discussing this on MSN, and we have decreed that the winners of each category should be thus:
A: 1 Thing B: What You Waiting For? C: Push The Button D: Signs (by default since this category is SHOCKING) E: Since U Been Gone
That will be all.

Why 'Lyla' by Oasis and not 'The Importance Of being Idle'? Surely the fact this single got to number one as second single after the album's release meant a lot of people who weren't necessarily fans went out and bought it. 'Lyla' was pish by comparison surely? Anyhoo - Group 1 - Amerie and Nancy Group 2 - Charlotte and Gwen Group 3 - Sugababes and Pussycats Group 4 - Oasis and Snoop (but surely none of them?!) Group 5 - Gorillaz and Mario
Bit of a crappy list all round though. What do we expect though from a thinly veiled marketing exercise, a sham award ceremony designed to shift units in the run up to Christmas?

McFly should be disqualified - there's been a serious fuck up there.

A - Amerie (1 Thing) & 2Pac (Ghetto Gospel)
B - The Church (Crazy Chick) & Bodyrockers (I Like The Way You Move)
C - Sugababes (Push The Button) & ... my god they're poor. PCD's just because.
D - Snoop & Oasis. But maybe Akon & Rhianna. It's poorest here.
E - Kelly Clarkson & Gorillaz probably.
Not too impressed with it this year, tbh. Which is weird.

Lemar - If There's Any Justice Release Date: 15th November, 2004
Maybe it's been included because it was released after Record Of The Year 2004. Is that the rule?

Don't they usually have a live performance from the previous winner on the show?
What are they going to do about Busted?

Westlife will win because their fans are notorious bed wetters serial texters. Quite why the monotonous and repetitious act of texting a number a zillion times would appeal to them, I really couldn't imagine.

Ah yes probably. That's what happens with the Brit awards I suppose. They have different cut off points.

Yes VERY upsettingly it's just bound to be Westshite again :-( Very upset at no GA or Goldfrapp :-( But, Sugababes and Charlotte Church are both FAB classic tracks so for me it would be one of those.

Anyone who enjoys listening to Westlife can probably find pleasure in anything. They must have very happy lives.

I questioned McFlys entry as I too thought charity singles weren't allowed but I was told it was on their album and therefore counted. Which is weird. Cannot believe they got through, and Westlife. Thats madness.
