I just heard I'm with Stupid, and saw the video. I think I've seen only one episode of Little Britain so I didn't recognize the guys from it... just thought the video was weird and funny.
The song... ah, sublime. I unreservedly love every cheesy orch.hit ever to come out of the 80's and this song does the business in spades. Trevor Horn really is unstoppable.

Much as I love the Boys, it seems that they really have forgotten how to write a chart topping mass appeal disco anthem. Why can't we have another It's A Sin, Heart, So Hard or Domino Dancing? I am sure they would gain new fans and do better commercially if they returned to their electropop origins. DING DONG! Sodom and Gomorrah Show and Integral calling! Integral made me wet when it was played at Club Popjustice last friday.

Integral made me wet when it was played at Club Popjustice last friday. Moist, surely? Anything more would be terribly bad form. Actually that was probably my favourite moment of the night. It veritably shone.

You know, no matter how much you want to remix someone's songs, getting hold of them, if you don't have the adequate contacts is IMMMM-possible.
I've not actually heard any of the other tracks, I must be the only PSB fan to be waiting patiently.
Loving I'm with stupid, though. I can't believe clicky kick drums are back. All praise Trevor Horn! I thought the video was rather funny, though Tommy didn't seem terribly impressed ("are they in it at all?!"). I'm left wondering if they're going to continue the theme of Matt Lucas and David Walliams on following videos. That would be good.

I love those huge clumpy drums - reminds me of duran's Wild Boys. Ive tried to recreate them using my sampler, linn drum sounds and lots of amp effects but alas my cheap recording set up is nothing compared to Trev'.
one day....

I just thought that since the 808-style electro drums came in during the early 90s people would never go back to clicky kick drums, but here we are! I used to use them all the time, but that was because of a cheap recording set up!
I always loved PSB's version of Always on my mind because you can't be sure whether the bass kick is there on the same measure as the snare because they've both got so much treble going.
I'm going to go now; I'm boring myself.

Just seen the boys perform I'm with Stupid on Top of the Pops. They were great. If anyone missed it they had neil in his undertaker hat and jacket while a group of dancers performed behind him each wearing face masks of politicians. These included Blair, Bush and David Cameron.
They wore the orange suits and the Guantanamo imagery was very apparent. A very good performance.
Anyone else see it?

I totally forgot and was playing O-bloody-blivion with a nice glass of wine while Tommy scanned family photos. Kicking myself now, though; I'm hoping the TOTP website will be updated with the performance.
Gawd bless the top hat.

They wore the orange suits and the Guantanamo imagery was very apparent. A very good performance. Anyone else see it? It was fantastic. From the official site: Originally there were three Tony Blairs and three George Bushs but the BBC insisted that for "political balance" the other UK political party leaders had to be shown and that there could be only one Blair and one Bush. Luckily Putin and Clinton masks were acquired from a party shop while PSB management and make-up staff made quick Cameron and Campbell masks from newspaper photographs!Hopefully if they perform it on Popworld, we'll get the full complement!

its a shame they did that but there are local elections in the next fortnight. In the immeadiate run up to elections there are very strict rules over showing political parties so that could explain the move. If any news items for example discuss the political climate in a particular town they usually have to list who the other candidates and parties are in that area at the end of the report so there couldnt have been a particular advantage to one party over another with regards to TV exposure. yawn.

Again, terribly patronising... As if people are going to be influenced by pop promos or performances not showing certain candidates...
In the light of the BBC's move crimping the style of the Pet Shop Boys' performance, I'd just like to say, VOTE LIB-DEM VOTE LIB-DEM VOTE LIB-DEM.
Mua-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!

Good luck, Ben!
I'm bound to secrecy at the moment concerning a likely commercial release of some of our stuff (we remixed someone), but I'm dead excited!

Ah... Love it. Totally not shit. Chris playing bassline again? Neil looks fantastic in that hat/coat comvery good. D'you think they got the idea of referencing themselves for the promo/dancers from Madonna since she's done the same on Confessions...

It's a bit worrying they are considering it as the second single. (although the Hook-y bass at the end will appeal to New Order fans)

Minimal is the best thing they've done for years. It's so cool and mysterious and the music is absolutely gorgeous. Sublime.

I wrote a huge gushing post about "Minimal" on my blog. It's one of the finest songs they have ever done - and so beautiful. I got goose bumps the same way I did when I heard "Miracles" a few years ago.
So far I am very impressed by how cooked these songs are - I mean that they have all these great nooks and crannies, little bits that you end up saying "oh my favorite part of that song is..." They didn't just slap this together. The other thing is that it seems to solidify the idea that Trevor Horn is the third PSB. He really brings out the whole over-the-top passionate quality that their fans love.
