Well I've now heard 'II'm With Stupid', 'Luna Park', 'Integral' and 'Minimal' and I really like all of them, which should mean I'm gonna love 'Fundamental'!

Having heard all the 30-second clips (my sources aren't as good as yours, clearly!) I think the album is going to be amazing.
I would love to get my grubby mits on some session files and remix some of the new stuff, that would be absolutely fantastic.

Casanova in Hell is great - like a serious ballad but with crazy laugh aloud lyrics about erections. Solid arrangement too. They only one I am "meh" on is Luna Park. Kind of goes nowhere.

Most of the remaining tracks have now leaked and I'm a bit underwhelmed by most of them after one listen but it should change with time (I usually need 3 or 4 listens to 'get into' a song). For instance I'm now quite liking Minimal. The string bits at the end for instance are Potemkin done good (I should probably say done even better) and Neil's vocals are great (as a rule of thumb, the lower range he uses the happier I am).

I've only heard 'I'm with Stupid' from the new album and that's the way I'll keep it until the May release. Then it will be ripe for listening to in one go !!!
I'm off to Newcastle now to see the boys, but that's a another story!! (wink)

I like the part of Minimal where he sings about light and shade, in the lower voice, just before the chorus. Gorgeous.

Radio 2 are 'playing it to death' as some people in the office are saying. Good news, IMHO!
Still not a peep on the Capital-owned local commercial stations. Anyone got anything in their part of the world? Our two local ones Southern FM (Sussex) and Invicta FM (Kent) are still failing to acknowledge the existence of Pet Shop Boys.
They haven't put a PSB song on their playlists since, as you say, Se a vide é (That's the way life is). I thought that Flamboyant and Miracles were very radio-worthy, but no. What is it that these people have against the Boys?!

What is it that these people have against the Boys?! PSB's problem is that they don't fit the demographic of the local commercial stations. They are far too old so even though they still produce exciting modern pop music, you're more likely to hear a twenty-year old sing an anodyne Werthers Original ballad on the likes of Capital. It's through the looking glass. It's sad that Radio 2 are the only ones playing them nowadays but such is life. Commercial stations base their playlist around advertising revenues not the quality of the music.

Just heard the single, remixes and b-sides from itunes and I'm thrilled that they're back.......I loved Release but I must admit I prefer them to do unashamed electro pop, unable to get PSB maxi mix on itunes yet though. Now really loking forward to Fundamental...........still hate the video though, too cheap looking

the radio 2 gig that pj went to last night sounded really fantastic. they did some real special performances, including one of my favourites from the "very" album... "dreaming of the queen". im really surprised they had frances barber doing her song "friendly fire" from their closer to heaven musical. and what i would give to see robbie williams doing jealousy!!
Setlist:
Left To My Own Devices Rent (Liza version) You Only Tell Me You Love Me When You're Drunk The Sodom & Gomorrah Show Casanova in Hell (performed by Rufus Wainwright) Odessa Friendly Fire (performed by Frances Barber) Integral Numb It's Alright Luna Park Nothing Has Been Proved Jealousy (the big 12" version, featuring Robbie Williams) Dreaming Of The Queen It's A Sin Indefinite Leave To Remain West End Girls

Has anyone heard the IWS remixes? How are they ?
I have only heard the Max Tundra mix which is kind of bleepy and...minimal (bada bing!). Sounds like it was done on a Casio..

#8 is excellent and something of a miracle given the general lack of support from the usual media outlets. Hurrah, indeed. Let's hope Fundamental manages to do as well (or better).

If they really want to thank us for our support, they should reply to the letter we sent them.
