www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,4-2006220237,00.html "HERE’S a question for the pub quiz – how many DANNII MINOGUE hits can you name? Stuck? So was I. But apparently KYLIE’S little sis has had so many that she is releasing a compilation, The Hits And Beyond, on June 16. She looks sensational in this cover shot for the CD. Good job sex sells . . . If she wasn’t this amazing in her undies I Begin To Wonder – I’ve got one – how well the album would do in the charts. " Oh shes a one that Newton....what with her sharp tongue, and clever english.... x

She has a point about the severe lack of public knowledge of Dannii's career. In saying that I quite like her new song, I've been listening to it quite regularly.

While I was quoffing ale in the gentlemans club last night (ok hammered on £1.60 wine in G-A-Y bar) it was pointed out that you can sing 'disco down' quite easily to 'so under pressure', which we tried and actually is true/we were hammered and didn't care
On the above, did anyone see holy moly last week, it desciber her thus -
"Whizzing through the Wapping air on her Broomstick Of Baloney", which made me chortle
That is all

Victoria Newton claims Dannii makes money selling sex. I claim Victoria makes money being a professional bitch.

if dannii was just "selling sex", then her gay fanbase wouldnt be very interested... i honestly dont know how the hell victoria newton got her job. is ANYTHING she says actually true?

Victoria Newton is a vile dumb crone who talks out her saggy arse.
It is true that if you asked the average man on the street to name 5 Dannii songs they probably couldn't, but I think this compilation will have people going "I didn't know she sang that". I just really hope it gets a good TV advertising campaign showing This Is It, All I Wanna Do, Who Do You Love Now, I Begin To Wonder and So Under Pressure. That should do the trick!

It's inevitable that Dannii will forever be compared less favourably to her big sis', but I really do hope The Hits and Beyond has a positive effect on the way she is perceived by the public. Is it really possible to ride on the coattails of a famous sibling for 15 years in the notoriously fickle music industry?
Her lowest chart position since 1998 is #11, which - considering her sporadic output - is no mean feat. Her fanbase is not to be underestimated. Dannii's known for her club songs which as a general rule don't bode for great albums (though Neon Nights does come close to being a great pop album), and what better showcase than on a compilation? The ingredients are right for The Hits and Beyond to be a relative success. She won't sell a million, it's unlikely she'll achieve even half that figure, but I don't think a single platinum certification in the UK is out of reach.
So Under Pressure is a return to her 2001-2004 form and deserves a Top 5 placing.
Maybe the advent of an unashamed appreciation of the other Minogue is nigh?

Im not a huge Dannii fan, but Vicky Newton does have a point. Most of the record buying public wouldnt be able to name 3 Dannii 'hits'. That is a fact. The cover of Cosmopolitan is awful, but at least she has a cover.

if dannii has made a careeer on selling sex, i would like to know what street corner she is operating off!! also, if victoria newton made a career from selling sex, after a year she could afford a pack of chewing gum!

This was the perfect opportunity for her to do a great cover. Instead we just get a generic shot of Dannii trying to look sexy. Will be interesting to see if she uses any 'fat photos' from her pre surgery days inside...

I actually like the Minogue underdog but her Wikipedia profile is bollocks: being christened the pioneer of modern electro-pop by critics and fans alikeIn what way is Dannii a pioneer? You must be taking the piss.

Since All I Wanna Do - all her tracks have gone to number one in club land. yeah, and deservedly so too. i love to hear dannii in nightclubs, often her remixes get played too. her musics definitely more dancefloor orientated than kylies. and i really think this greatest hits is gonna make the average person realise they know more dannii songs than they realised.

You must be taking the piss. Well, she kind of started a trend with electro pop, What with Holly Valance and others attempting to have a similar sound.

In what way is Dannii a pioneer? It's not completely relevant, more a small point of interest, but within the Minogue family Dannii was a pioneer of working with Cathy Dennis, Xenomania, Karen Poole...

Just to jump on the bandwagon, Dannii did start the electropop sound that has been prevalent in pop over the last few years way back in 1997 with the superb Girl album and had 5 consecutive top 10 hits between 2001-2004 (thanks to the Guiness Book of Singles for that titbit!)
It is such a shame that she will always just be Kylie's sister in the eyes of the world.

But being Kylie's sister has probably been the one thing that had stopped her fading into nothingness.

I really don't agree. Why then doesn't Madonna have umpteen siblings hanging on her coat tails?
Dannii has had a consistent run of international hits for 15 years, something the likes of Rachel Stevens (who I just don't understand why she is so idolised on here) can only dream about.

I love Dannii, but I can only see this album selling reasonably if 'So Under Pressure' is a huge hit, which I very much doubt. It is a great track though, I will be buying the album and I wish her the best of luck with it. Everything she released before '97, besides 'This Is It' was pretty dire in my opinion, but since then she hasn't gone wrong once.

Because Madonna doesnt have a sister... and her brother chose not to be famous, like the Minogue brother.

Madonna has lots of brothers and sisters, at least 6 or 7 (I knew all their names at one point when I was a big fan!) I was always surprised that one of them never tried their luck at pop - probably were too scared of her reaction!
